Buying Vacation Homes [Outdoor Retreat / Jungle Adventure]

I love this idea!
Earning the money from other sims staying there is proper airbnb vibes but would work so well.. "request to book" could be an option/interaction for sure (on the phone or computer) or like if your family owned it but playing a different household.. "ask to stay at..."

this is because plants tend to only grow when there are active sims/households around - or you frequently visit the lot (so I've found so far)

like I suggested in my comment earlier there could be interactions to request to stay in places or ask to stay if family owned it

If they were distant they might want more money or if they were close it could be offered for free...
Trait dependent might be harder? But would be cool if the party animals were warned not to throw parties or if it was left in a mess to pay more?

I've had families living permanently in Granite Falls (obviously, they had a 'home lot', but never lived there). The only real annoyance is that we can't edit the lot once the 'vacation' starts - if you've forgotten something when you were building the lot pre-vacation, you have to send everyone home, edit the lot, and then bring them back. They also fixed the 'bug' that allowed you to buy locked objects in build/buy when editing a GF lot, to my great disappointment. I considered that to be a 'feature'.

It's one of my favourite worlds - I do wish we could use it as a regular world as well as a vacation world.

I'd like to be able to buy vacation homes too, ala TS3 Adventures style. It's certainly not impossible. :smile:

this would be awesome. the option to own more than one property and move between them would be wonderful, like in sims 3.

i think we should be able to live permanently in the holiday worlds and commute to work from there or be self employed/living of wealth

a rental system would be interesting. our sims who rent the holiday houses could have 'reputations' which impact them. bad rep: must pay a bond and higher daily costs whereas good rep: no bond and its cheaper. unlike apartments where just existing causes noise, our sims would actually have to do things to earn that negativity like loud music or break things etc. by the same token we could have landlord reputation based on how quick we repair our holiday property

As to the renting aspect, I was thinking about how Sims that own the vacation house could earn money weekly while they're not staying there, because the worlds are so small and if you're playing with another family you might still want to rent this house, even if it's owned by someone else. In return the other family gets a set amount of money every week, creating the illusion that the vacation house is always rented

And maybe there could be some surprises upon returning to your vacation house like things that are broken or trash is lying around the house.

its a great idea. some people live off rental income so why cant our sims? exactly regarding the surprises. this would create a bad image of the renter but if things are left clean, it creates a good reputation

This would be great. Right now the only way to "live" at a property is to 1) have a family that's really loaded or 2) Have a family that's somewhat loaded but has someone with the Shrewd trait so you can earn money while on your "vacation." Either way, permanent vacation life gets boring after a while. Would the family that owned the property always say yes? Or would it depend on the relationship and/or Sims' traits?
