Me too. I have almost all of Sims 4 and a windows partition with Sims 2 UC on it and still have enough space that I could install another Sims 4. If Sims 4 alone is taking up your entire system without all it's packs, it's too small for that purpose.
Obviously though, just going out and getting what you need is not an option for some people. So until you can do that, the other recommendations are good.
Uninstall and be picky about what you put back. Also look at downloads, documents, pictures etc. and see what you could move onto a flash drive (Wal-mart sells inexpensive ones) or delete. Look through programs and see what you can uninstall that you never use, like game or art programs that came with the OS.
