Cafe autonomy - help us understand how it works?
We just got Get Together and are excited to explore its functions. We took a household of 3 to a cafe. As soon as we arrived, everyone's queue filled up with autonomous "Order food" and "Order drink". We didn't have the option to choose what they ate or drank. We tried canceling the action on one character, and saw that we could click on the barista to order particular foods or drinks, but several autonomous ordering actions came back into the queue so it was hard to figure out what was going on.
Is going to a cafe a very tightly scripted event, where when you walk in, you have to order a food and a drink and then sit down and eat it, and then you are free to do other things?
Or is it even more tightly scripted where the sims just order food and drink over and over and over until you leave?
Or does this have something to do with the hunger need, like if you aren't hungry to begin with then the autonomous orders don't happen?
This seems different from the autonomy in bars. There, sims do order drinks autonomously but not over and over and not in a way that prevents them from doing other things.
I don't mind the tight scripting in restaurants because I understand how it works. And it makes sense to me that you'd go to a restaurant to sit down and order your food and eat your food and pay your bill in that order; also you are free to socialize and get up from your table and sit back down later if you want.
We'd love to be able to play in the cafes a little more freely, like go there on dates and be able to do the date actions, socialize with friends, do homework there, use them as club hangouts, etc. Like you can in the bars and lounges. If that's possible.
We'll continue experimenting, but it would be great if someone here wishes to explain the process for us. Thanks!
