Calendar Help

I got Seasons and so far I like how detailed a lot of things are in the way of set up and clothes etc. I made my seasons last 28 days. Things start in spring and so far I got to experience Love Day and Talk Like a Pirate Day. Very cute. However, the next holiday is Harvestfest...wait...what? It's SPRING! I also noticed that there's another Love Day coming, Brawl Day and Winterfest ...all in spring! How did that happen and how do I correct these things? I'm all for the premade holidays that came with the game and calendar, but my gosh let's have them in the proper months and spaced out some. The rando holidays like the Brawl thing and Pirate thing I don't care when they happen, but I would much prefer Winterfest to actually be in winter.

  • Definitely sounds like a bug. I play on 14 days (switched from 7) and haven't run into this issue but someone else might've. Could be specific to 28 days? Are you currently using mods? Some usual steps to try and un-bug something is to clear the cache, repair the game, and test without mods (presuming you have any) and see if that fixes it.
  • The only mods I use are decorations and a few items of clothing. How do I clear the cache? Will I have to remove the mods folder or just shut them off in the settings?
  • There's a guide here for clearing your cache. Sometimes just deleting the localthumbscache.package can help. I'd recommend removing the folder completely for testing. Bit easier that way since you don't have to boot up and disable them in settings.
  • Sounds like someone didn't first start their game with 28-day seasons! The tricky thing with this is, you got to know what you want to play with seasons length-wise, because if you change the season length while you already started your game, you might find your holidays shoved together in the same season instead. There is an easy fix and that is to delete all the holidays on the calendar and place them back again. They did warn us when changing season-length settings mid-game...

Yeah unfortunately I agree this isn’t a bug. If you change seasons after you’ve played for a minute on a different setting it will completely mess up your holidays. Also I think some pre seasons saves can have this issue if you didn’t start on a certain day of the week but I’m not 100 percent on that. It does have a huge warning under the season length that changing it can cause holidays to get messed up too, so there really is no chance it’s anything but intentional. Only thing you can do is delete and remake then.

Pffft I DID start the game with 28 day seasons. When I first got the game and was setting it up I thought 7 days was pointless and 28 is the same amount in Stardew Valley's seasons so that's where I immediately went. Deleting them was my thoughts as well actually. I was going to write down what they are and what traditions they came with and place them in the proper seasons.
  • I'm trying the delete thing now and it's telling me that the holiday will be deleted from the household calendar and won't appear next year. Does that mean it's gone regardless what I do ?

That’s what they meant, it’s a bug so far where if you extend the seasons, the holidays don’t move with the corresponding season. Maybe a SimGuru can help

It means it’ll be gone and won’t repeat next seasons either unless you set them up again manually
  • Ahhhh ok I got it! I wrote down the days and have been readding them in a season I would think they'd belong in as well as how far in the season I would think they should go IE New Years the last day of Winter etc. I also added a few new ones now that I learned how to do this haha...I think the only thing it's not letting me do is add stuff for next year's spring. The calendar is showing it two weeks after winter currently and I can't re-add Love Day although it's not anywhere on the calendar. I suppose I'll wait 'til whenever my play gets me out of spring now. I feel like I can make every week have a holiday just like reality where everything ends up being some kind of holiday lol
