Can’t carry toddlers when hiking?

I didn’t even know this was a thing. I feel like I missed out on something cute. I guess I won’t miss it. :D

We occasionally carried our toddler on long walks. It is not very comfortable but doable.
does this update mean toddlers now walk themselves or are they forbidden to come along on hikes? I didn't get the pack yet but I was looking forward to doing a hike with the entire family, including toddlers.

Yes we need this and also I would love to see other toddlers out with their families at parks and other suitable community lots.

Since so many people said they did not want toddlers, I've always wondered if this was done on purpose. Some simmers complained that they didn't even want to 'see' a toddler in the neighborhood and that it was too much hassle to even age them up.

Honestly, I don't understand going on a long walk knowing you have a toddler that can't walk very long. Does no one use strollers anymore?

On day 1 when I got Snowy Escape I tried carrying a toddler on a hike and the adult put the toddler down before it started. So I don’t think it was meant to work if it ever did.

As you can see, the father is carrying her alright through a wildlife attack (on the other father) and the stop at the cemetary, but then drops her at the temple (halfway through the hike). At this point the child sim has also broken from the group because I forgot to take a day off school. It's easy to make the child walk/run alongside the adults, and at one point he took out his (modded) bike. But the toddler is too slow to keep up on her own. I had to make her teleport a lot.

Imo they should have left the feature alone. Players who try it out and see the downsides probably wouldn't have touched it again, so there'd been no harm in leaving the option for those of us who are willing to work around the issues.

I've literally never seen anyone say anything remotely like this. But I see the exact opposite sentiment all the time: people literally begged for toddlers, and now that we have them, most people want more to do with them, not less.
