- Check walls. Sounds dumb, but if there's something on the wall in the line of the stairs ( a simple painting or light fixture that should not interfere) they won't be able to walk up. Some windows will cause issues too.
- Thank you! I will check and see. There is a window so that may be the problem.
- GalacticGal6 years agoLegendAt least you've figured out how to build with the stairs. Oi! Is there a tutorial somewhere?
- I think Kate Emerald has one on YouTube.

Thanks. My sweet hubby, who has never played this game, nor even seen it, figured it out in five seconds! I swear the man is a genius! I spent our down time yesterday playing around with it and have created a grand staircase that while not exactly as the one in the real house, it suits just fine. If I get the time today to snap a picture of it, I'll share. We have a wedding to attend this afternoon, so time is limited. But thank you so much for the Kate Emerald YouTube. :) - You are very welcome!
- GalacticGal6 years agoLegendMy problem originally was just getting the stairs to bend. :| Turns out I wasn't clicking and holding at the same time. Once hubby figured that out I got a nice set of stairs all twisted to suit my needs. Then I realized a single width wasn't doing the place justice. Had to change a few walls (make the adjoining rooms a tad narrower) but managed to get the staircase in double-width, with the bottom of the stairs turned toward the hallway. :) I will be remaking them for my lot on this computer later on. Then I will be able to capture a picture and share. Wedding was great, just so you know. The entire weekend was a breakneck pace, however. Almost fell asleep (3 times) during the Metropolitans' Homily. :open_mouth: (Our Metropolitan is essentially a Pope, just so you can put that into some context.) I'm the wife of a Deacon, so my falling asleep would be not-so-good. LOL
I did go back and test them to make sure they would function. Placed the Sim who will own the house eventually inside. Clicking on the stairs did nothing. But, (and this is a big but), clicking on the hall at the top of the stairs and directing him to go there caused him to take the stairs. For the life of me, it seems clicking on the stairs has never been the way to get a Sim to take them in Sims4, but then again we drove out of state for the wedding and I am severely sleep-deprived. LOL "GalacticGal;c-17240440" wrote:

I have RA and have too many mouse issues, I'll end up asking my hubby to help me make my cool new stairs- GalacticGal6 years agoLegendOkay, seems I had to divert my day a bit. Our little Evelyn not yet three, hurt her foot a few days ago and it's now infected. Had to watch three of her sisters and her little brother while my daughter took her to have a doctor look at her foot. Finally, got a chance to build the new staircase into the Erik Cantrell Mansion:

I have also uploaded this version to the Gallery if anyone is interested. :) It is a place built for a Rock Star, but I did leave out the cc from Road to Fame.
Gallery name is the same as my forum name: GalacticGal the lot is Erik Cantrell Mansion-1a - GalacticGal6 years agoLegend

My sixth great-grandfather suffered from that, too. But, in the 18th century they called it The Rheumatism. He found poke berries and wine helpful. His last plantation was called Marble Springs mainly because he found marble on the land and had a few springs that from time to time he would soak in, as a remedy, too. I'm sorry to hear you suffer from it. As for getting the stairs to twist, click and hold with the mouse and then use the < > key to turn it in the desired direction. I'd love to see what you come up with.
