Can I get some help please?

Hi, I'm new to The Sims 4 after spending years with Sims 3, and I'm grappling with the changes in game play.
I've enabled cheats and I have Master Controller, but I still seem unable to change a sims traits in Sims 4 like I could in Sims 3.
Plus I can't find a way to age a sim up or down or even to totally annihilate one.
Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks!

There are 2 ways to change Sim traits - enable cas.fulledit mode, go into CAS and change traits that way or shift click on desired Sim, should be a "Cheats" option, then "add trait/ remove Trait" option. In MC Command Center there is an option to change a Sim's age or kill them off. To do this click on Sim/ MCCC/ Sim Commands/ Set Age. To kill Sim, same menu - there should be Maintain Sim option and from there you can set their demise.
  • For changing traits, I would use the Re-traiting potion from the Rewards store. Cheating traits will often leave behind some traces. Lets say you remove an Active trait from a sim, they will still get the tense moodlets from "not enough exercise". The traits leave a residue, if you will, if they are "cheated". I've had more success with the potion.

ETA: forgot to mention the potion cost 5000 reward points, so I'd use MCCC cheat to give my sim those points first :)
  • The easiest way (and safest) to age up a sim I've found is without cheats. For the baby, all you have to do is click on it, then chose age up. For anyone else, just cook a cake, put the candles on it, then have them blow out the candles. You can keep putting candles on the cake and have sims blow them out as many times as you want. Aging up each time. The reason I say it's 'safe', is because I've noticed many times in CAS using full edit mode that aging them up there can break the genealogy tree. Aging down sometimes does that too. The only way I know of to age down is with the cheat. You can buy a potion with reward points to reset whatever age they are currently at (without cheats, unless you cheat to give them more reward points). But that's another story.
  • Hey can anyone help me with the last exemption mod it says

    Plausible cause: career_base

    Reason:KeyErrorCareerTimeOffReason=7

And I thought that meant to go to season and change it to 7days instead of 14 but that wasn't the case help !!??
