Can Sims get fired?

Yes your sims can get fired. So the performance bar you watch for promotion? If that dips into the red you can get fired, if it dips red you get 1 day to get out of the red before firing occurs if I'm remembering correctly. So skipping work 3 days running is a good way to do it. Flunking the opportunity cards alone won't do it but combine a failed opportunity with already bad performance can.

In Sims 3 it was a lot easier to get fired.

In TS2 as well. Those chance cards could be brutal.

Even in TS3 I never had a sim get fired! But I know Sims 2 was more difficult. I just can't remember it very well anymore

This is good to know, I have yet to have a sim get fired.

In Sims 3, at least five of my playable sims have gotten fired. lol

So, if you get fired say from the Detective job, can you go back and start over again, or is that job locked for that sim.

The detective for me in experience is the EASIEST job to get fired from, just arrest the wrong person like 6-7 times in a row on the same workday and I got fired immediately :dizzy:

Side-note: also, I think children can get taken away if they drop in school performance too much? haven't really experienced this myself

If you don't turn up to work or you don't complete any assignments, then you can get fired. Your general performance and mood can determine how long you stay at that job. It is pretty hard to get fired in your jobs, but I guess that's a good thing!

Yeah I haven't had a sim get fired yet in TS4 but I did get a warning about my kids grades once and I immediately made her to do schoolwork cause I wasn't taking a chance!
