  • I was like "maybe even though i generally fail at cas i could have a tip!"

    but now im just like
"this is a big mood and im here for it"

I guess it might help if you posted pictures of the demon men and failed attempts at making sims so people could probably say if there is something you could alter that could probably help the overall look

as for makeup i tend to think of it as applying shadows to my sims face and it works better with opacity and hue sliders now but yeah i still end up with some tragic clowns at times

hairstyle one is too real though
i guess we all have our favourites
but perhaps it helps if you make some sims with very different character to what you usually make that sort of helps for me
  • Regarding point #4, have you noticed the addition of the sliders for make-up? Especially the opacity slider is such a game-changer. You can use the make-up options in a much more subtle way and I love it. I added an example under the spoiler.

    Spoiler
The Sim is wearing the same make-up options in both pictures, I just adjusted the opacity in the picture on the right.

And regarding point #5, I have a thread in which I post no CC outfit ideas. I don't necessarily go by outfit category, usually I go by pack and it might not even help at all if you have a different taste. I added some examples below under the spoiler.

For the party category there are a lot of options, but I especially like the Moschino pack for this category:

    Glad I could help. :)
  • I am terrible with CAS, I've been trying to make sims that look like myself and my boyfriend for ages and just can't pull it off. A tip I received once which I've used a few times is once you've gotten the face or body shape they way you like I was told to switch the gender and see if it still looks realistic. So you make a man and make his face then do a quick switch and make him female to see if anything looks super disproportionate.

The body shape I usually just let it go, I try to make them normal but in real life everyone has different and odd shaped bodies so I just let them go.

There is a serious lack of hair styles in the game and I don't like to download mods so I am limited but if you dont have a problem downloading mods I know there are a lot of beautiful styles out there.

I had the same problem with the makeup but these new sliders help so much with making a more natural makeup look

  • I often look for sims in the gallery who have a look similar to what I'm going for, so I don't have to start from scratch. Then I make my own edits :)

Also sometimes the styled outfits you can choose from are actually pretty nice, but they will almost always have terrible accessories and makeup you will have to edit
  • assuming youre playing on pc id say cc. also for males starting off making faces as women and then change to masculine frame and it should be decent looking and make small changes
  • When I'm making a male sim and feeling uninspired I sometimes start with a random female sim, randomize a few times until I get something I like the look of, change the sex of the sim and continue from there. Maybe try that. And I've no idea why the default body shapes can be so weird, like pear shaped male sims, I tend to tweak bodies a lot.

I also have to stop myself using the same 3 hairs.

My makeup skills are terrible too. I will sometimes use the outfit presets on a sim just for the makeup and then change everything else. But as mentioned above, the makeup sliders really are a blessing.
  • The bodies in the category are just general archetypes, templates if you will. Once you choose one then you can push/ pull the specific features using the hand tool that appears when you hover your cursor over a specific feature. As your doing this you will see a sort of mesh like Gris light up on the feature, once it turns red you have manipulated it to its maximum ability in that direction.

Detail edit mode is great for faces. You can get really close in to manipulate lips, eyes, eyelids, eyebrows etc.

Also as you work, zoom out kinda far every so often and see how things look to you. Because in game you likely aren’t generally right on top of your sim, so this gives you a bit of perspective because a lot of things don’t look right when you’re zoomed in really close.
