I am getting so, so bored with the worlds. Yes, all of them are pretty, but the themes are 90% American and 80% suburban. TS4 claims to be taking new directions and being more inclusive, but WHERE are the other continents? There are many, many countries with diverse and beautiful architecture and famous activities, skills etc that are begging to be the theme of an EP/GP.World Adventures was the first TS3 EP, and it added three different countries as themes. I'm honestly shocked that we haven't gotten at the very least a Venice or Paris world, since they are thousands of people's fantasy to visit - The Sims is pure wish fulfillment, so it's a given that people would buy these packs, especially since much of the target demographic of TS4 shares this fantasy. African and Asian worlds would finally give thousands of simmers more representation while adding fun, different gameplay for all. Even just adding a South American world instead of North American would be a welcome break. The Sims is an internationally best-selling game, and believe me that the majority of us non-Americans aren't particularly interested in playing in an all-American universe. We also want worlds we can relate to, and explore the rest of the world that we might not be able to afford to visit any other way.

I agree with both posts. I am desperately waiting for more exotic worlds be it fantasy or just another country. And I'm so tired of the suburbs which is why I love evergreen harbor.To second what sindocat said people complain either way and their efforts are always met with complaints and criticism from most.Simguruninja recently said they gave us newcrest because we were asking for an empty world and got dirt thrown on their head basically. Most people trash island living they say it's lacking, empty, mermaids are bad etc.and should have been a resort. It's one if my favorites though and I'm eternally grateful they let us live there.?A I can say is hopefully we get more exotic worlds in the future.

They've specifically been gauging interest for which non-American worlds players would be interested in, so, they're already in the process. A lot of the maps have been neighboring ones that connect to each other around the edges of the map and in the skylines, so a handful of them were similar. A lot of the suburban mapping has been fleshed out, and now we have an industrial map with mountains in the distance, and it's likely that we'll get a mountain world at some point. It'll continue from there. We've gotten a few standalone maps when they want to throw in something that's totally different, and that's always a possibility. But so much of the suburban design came from them creating cohesion between the maps.

I’m greedy and want both! I love the US-style suburban worlds and use them the most. But I also want residential worlds that represent countries in other continents. I would love worlds similar to Japan and Nigeria in particular. But I also want another Newcrest without the skyscrapers in the background.

not to be a critic here but i feel it needs to be more open toward other countrys i am french canadien would be nice if a sim neighborhood was base on canadien neighborhood and each province from canada like for exemple a neighborhood base from a city on the southshore of montreal a neighborhood base on the city of vancouver calgery to name a few and a Ottawa to name a few the sims 4 might be a game but its important to be fair win term of neighborhood or other countrys like europe canada ect to name a few.

Can we please stop getting suburban, American worlds now?

I love the Old England Windenburg, the Beautiful Polynesian Island, the dark Eastern European tiny Village Forgotten Hollow & the Pretty

As an Aussie, I would love a town that borders on the bush with local wildlife and whatnot coming out to your house. Imagine a kangaroo or koala coming to visit you and you can befriend them? It would be hotter than other places, local culture of aboriginals... sigh.

Let's not forget Selvadoria with its vibe of at least Central America. South America is so large and varied that it would take more than one world to capture it. TS2 gives us a world very like Sulani, though with a bit more in it, and there is the charming Takemizu Village of Asia. Be nice to see them more fully developed in 4, if not 5 (if it comes).

I'm American, but I agree with the OP, there needs to be more diversity in the main playing worlds. The Sims is a globally popular franchise, but most of the game content represents American culture.
