Agree with @meubanks. Personally, I don't even know ANY of my second or third cousins or great uncles... so I really don't mind my Sims not knowing their second and third cousins and great great uncles as such either. As meubanks stated, it is legal in most places for second cousins to get married... sometimes, even cousins are allowed to marry. Also agree with others that if you really don't want these Sims to be married to each other, then you have to take out MCCC - I use MCCC and I love it, but I personally have to do a lot of micro-managing with that mod when it marries off a Sim of mine to someone he/she really shouldn't end up with. That's my own responsibility to fix that, as I chose to put that mod in.
I do, however, fully agree with OP on the stepmother/father thing. Yes, please! Stepmothers and fathers are already labelled as such in family trees - where half-siblings are also actually listed as HALF-siblings - so I hope they can make it so that they're also listed like that in relationship panels in the future. Same with step-siblings. Would love that! Again, though, the fact that there is a romance bar between a stepfather and daughter is not that problematic to me - romance bars can officially only exist between adults anyway so the child would need to be YA for it to even come up, and once they're YA it's not officially illegal for them to fall in love with stepparents. Seriously weird? Sure. But not illegal or anything. Could actually make for an interesting storyline hehe. :#
ETA: Fixed some grammar mistakes real quick.
