Canoe only for 1?

Is the outrigger canoe only for 1? I imagined taking multiple Sims on the canoe and going someplace...but I can't get more than 1 on the canoe. Am I missing something?

Sadly not just the canoe but also the jet skis and sailboat are only 1 sim boats as well.
