Canoe only for 1?

Is the outrigger canoe only for 1? I imagined taking multiple Sims on the canoe and going someplace...but I can't get more than 1 on the canoe. Am I missing something?

Hopefully in a future pack we can get the gondela back that lets two sims be on it.
