Can't Place Sprinklers Indoors?

...but sprinklers indoors will just create a huge puddle that a sim will be forced to mop up. I’ve seen some place no floor tiles in their greenhouse to make it more natural, I suppose like that it will allow for one indoors

I never give up when this game tries to stop me from doing something I want to do. o:) I was building a store that sells seasonal supplies. Don't remember exactly how I did it. I think I placed it outside near the building, then stretched the walls out to cover it. You could also place it anywhere outside and build the room around it.

I don't have any floor tiles in it? Otherwise you couldn't exactly call it a greenhouse =p

Its just dirt flooring but it still won't let me place them indoors. And I don't care about the puddles. You could always just leave puddles there and it wouldn't bother your sim. I just think its silly that in the previous games you could place sprinklers indoors but for some reason they decided to prevent that in this game.

Thanks for that idea. I guess I could try it, but its a hassle considering I've already taken the time to build the greenhouse. I'd have to pretty much dismantle it, place the sprinklers, and then rebuild it all over again.... there should be a much easier way. Like them just simply letting us place it indoors.

I had the same problem but I figured out a workaround. The sprinkler considers any room (not outside) I wanted my greenhouse to look more natural and thought removing the floor would work. I removed the door, then deleted two wall panels where the door should be. If the walls are not connecting it doesn't consider it a room. You should be able to place it after doing so. Hope this helps.

I thought about doing that myself, but wanted to keep the room for the glass roof. But since you said it worked for you I think I'll just give this method a go anyway since it seems the easiest :D

Does deleting the floor tiles around the sprinkler so that it's on the lot grass help at all? Like, where ever its area of effect is just delete the tiles there? Perhaps you could make a cute indoor display area with the sprinkler and flowers and such

I thought I was going crazy yesterday trying to place them inside my greenhouse with the moo cheat.

I don't know why we would be restricted to placing sprinklers in greenhouses since they can water the plants. I wonder if this could be a bug.

You don't have to dismantle anything. Simply bulldoze a piece of the wall. Place the sprinkler, then put the wall back. I'm pretty sure the game only considers it indoors if the room is fully enclosed.

No one said they were restricted to greenhouses. The problem is that sprinklers can't be placed indoors, even in greenhouses because the game considers it indoors.
