Because there are. I mean no one's really done a direct headcount, but at a glance it definitely looks sparse.

It's also important to recognize that this EP is the one pack that provides pets with their stuff, so it's usually safe to assume that if Pets didn't get something here, they'll never get it. The variety of pet furniture looks really bad, with two pet "beds" (rugs), one pet ball, two bowls, I can't seem to find the cat condo (though I think I recall them saying there is one) and almost two full rows of wall decals.

The multiple cat condos/scratching posts are the next to last full row. They look a little odd.

I haven't been in touch with TS4 news lately but I've read someone saying that the reason why they didn't add dog houses was because they think it's cruel to have pets sleep outside or something? And then they give us these pet "beds", if you can even call them that. I think my dogs would be so offended with me if I gave them what essentially looks like a rug to sleep on. That's more cruel than having a dog sleep on a dog house. At least dog houses can have comfy beds and blankets inside.

We saw a toy box in the Country Clinic -- the toys may be in there, and they didn't show inside the toybox we couldn't see what toys are in the game.

Sparse? Lol. This blows like 95% Sims EPs out of the water in terms of object count. TS3: Seasons, for example, comes with around 130 objects (and that includes build mode items like doors and windows). Here we have almost 300 without even including a bunch of build mode items.

So I count 277 items here(not counting buildmode). This is very likely all of the buy mode objects, the number is about right. You can't judge S4 packs by S3 standards. Get to Work had 360 items total and City Living had 310 total according to SimsVip.

There's no source: the SimGurus have said nothing about why there isn't a doghouse. It's all been player speculation as to reasons.

What's your deal? A machine that sells food or drink for money is a vending machine regardless of how it looks.

He's mainly talking about the traditional looking vending machines we had in TS3 Uni Life that sold sodas and snacks.
