Celebrity Stars problem

I play rotantional and have one house with a 3 star musician, one with a 4 star artist, one with a 2 star writer, and one with a 1 star politician. It seems like every time I rotate into their respective houses, they lose celebrity level when I'm not playing them. And, my poor writer spends all day in her office typing away spewing out book after book, and if she takes one day off, I get the "losing level" notification. Anyone else having this issue?

  • I have not had this issue. Sims are not supposed to lose stars even when you don't play them. Do you have any mods or CC that might be affecting your game?

I play a completely vanilla game. No mods at all.
  • I don’t have this issue with my save, since I have mods to stop that. But I know my girlfriend (who plays completely vanilla) has mentioned this same issue; her Sim is also a writer and no matter if she writes nonstop every single day, she will get that notification, too.
  • I have had this issue with two of my sims, and both are in the acting career. I was rotating between two households, my female sim actor and some other household. I played her in the beginning then I moved onto the other house, some time later I “saved and exited” my game; the following day when I went to play my actress, she had the sad moodlet because her fame was fading and then a notification shows up on my wall stating that. I hope it’s a bug because it takes a lot of work to get from one star level to another.

Interesting... It's most definitely a bug. If I were you, I'd quit the game then repair it. See if it fixes it. If not... I have literally no idea what to do.

If you don't mind, how exactly do I do that??

Right-click the game in Origin and select Repair.

Just make sure you allow the game to finish the 'repair' before you try to play. Also, if that doesn't work you can do a Sims 4 document folder refresh. Make sure your game is OFF, first. To pull the game folder, find your document pathway: documents>Electronic Arts> Sims 4 game folder, then just slide it to your desktop. This is Windows. If you have a Mac, perhaps someone else can instruct where you find if, if you're uncertain where it is. Start your game and the folder will regenerate. Then exit the game. Make sure the game is off before you go back through the documents pathway to replace the saves folder and your Tray folder to restore the games you were playing. If you use mods, you would also replace the new Mods folder for the older one.
  • Also, writer Sims don't acquire fame points while writing, they aquire them once they publish. To keep your fame points up you need to keep your writer in the public eye by doing things like updating social media status, and posting to simstagram, or using the media station to upload vlogs. As far as losing points goes, your sim shouldn't lose them when you're not playing them as others have stated.
