Changing gender for your child in CAS question

As far as I know I cant influence the child's gender . I read some people just change the sex to what they want in CAS . I was wondering how this works. Does it just create some random child? or does ...

If your sim eats strawberry and listens to pop music while pregnant you get a girl. If you listen to alternative music, you get a boy.
