Changing Length Of Seasons

I prefer 28 days & then I get my sim to upgrade the weather machine to go back to the selected season again about two more times.
I like my sims to be in the season that I'm in.
For example: it's summertime so I make sure my sims are in the summertime also.

I go the opposite direction, when the yuck rl weather drags on I want summer in-game. lol

I havent noticed it breaking anything. The only thing I can really think of is gardening, where if you shorten seasons then plants have less time to grow and so you'll get less harvest. Still seems to work so you get some though.

I'm pretty sure all seasons stay the same length, whatever you set them too. But when I want an always sunny and warm environment then I play in Sulani or Oasis Springs for a while. It doesnt guarantee warm, dry weather, but it happens more often so they can emjoy the pool :)

The aging process stays the same, so seasons doesnt change that. You might want to change the aging process to fit the calendar though. I use MCCC to have control over specific ages.

Favourite season? It totally depends on my mood! I'm going through a summer phase at the mo, so my sims are living in Sulani and enjoying the outdoor life - beaches, BBQs, lounging by the pool etc. But I think overall I really like the variety of all of them. I like that there's a constant movement, being able to enjoy lounging outside, but then being able to make snowmen and have snowball fights.

I don't shorten my seasons, but I have lengthened them to 14 days each. I found that 7 days was just a bit too quick, and if there were weather anomolies like a stormy/rainy summer, then my sims wouldnt have a nice summer holiday for a whole other year! But with 14 days, I found that I had enough time to settle into the season, and really appreciate the different weathers etc. 7 days I was just focusing on gameplay with a little bit of weather related stuff if I remembered ;)

They have to be the same length -- you can't have a 7 day winter and a 28 day summer in the same save.

I haven't seen anything break -- the only issue could be the holidays (like Love Day, Harvestfest, etc.) might show up at weird times so you might want to check those. I play on 14-day seasons, long enough for my Sims to enjoy them but not so long they get bored. :) 7 days is a bit short especially if you have an outdoor garden.

I’ve been using 14-day seasons for 8 families and changing households every 8 days. This allows me to pick up where I left off so the days flow for each family (even though technically it’s a year later but it’s where they left off in that season) and no holidays are missed or repeated.

I have more households forming, so I will soon be using 28-day seasons for 12 households, changing every 10 days with the exception of one session lasting 12 days. Otherwise, if I was still using 14-day seasons, I’d be changing households every 5 days which is too short to get into each household and they’re not guaranteed a weekend.

I have the seasons set to 28 days. But when winter starts I switch to 7 days because I don't like long winters. On the first day of spring I switch back to 28 days. I've been doing this since Seasons came out and have never encountered issues. All my serious gardeners keep their plants sheltered in a greenhouse or roofed porch, so the seasons have no effect on the plants anyway.

I use 14 days spring, summer and 7 days fall, winter.

@akaniki0 You can have different length seasonss in the same save or do you change it manually at each season?
