I've seen Sims greeting each other in various ways whenever they start a conversation. Which is fine when it happens in the street or on a community lot, it's what you do in real life.
But it annoys me to no end when they're having dinner together at home and get up from their seats to hug each other or something just because they want to talk to another household member.
