Just as the title says. I went into my household inventory while building and lo and behold there were chickens and loads of crops. How the chickens got in there I will never know but they come out starving and it takes ages to make them happy, you feed them and they ignore the food. Had a crop of over 300 potatoes and I only have maybe 4 potato plants, so when my sim was selling the potatoes they were going in the household inventory, well that's what I think. Anyone else found weird stuff in the household inventory. Oh and it wasn't from moving, I cleared it right after they moved house. I bet if I go in again today there will be more.Edit** No they didn't move house after they started the farm. No they didn't travel after starting the farm, so no, plants didn't need harvested before they went. No, there were no hatchable eggs in the inventory and one of the hens was one I'd named.Yes it's a problem, this makes the bills higher as the lot tax is calculated on what possessions sims have, in the fridge and in the inventories.

Could it be possible that your sim kept hatchable eggs in the personal inventory, and the chickens went to the household inventory as they hatched? Not sure if you mean the adult hens or baby chickens, but either way I have no clue, LOL. Might be a glitch, I'd check my mods or/and repair the game if it happened to me. Never found surprises in my sims' household inventory, except the university diploma...

I’ve been having issues with crops going into my household inventory since Cottage Living or the patch that came just before it. I’ve never had a chicken go in there yet though.

OK, you're talking about something completely unrelated, thanks anyway. Let me explain, you are clearly talking about the Sims individual inventory where they harvest crops too. I am talking about the household inventory you can only reach through build mode. When I mentioned selling crops it's obvious I'm running a farm and not a garden. Oh and FYI, you can sell them in multiples both ways, you can also put a full batch of say, onions, in the fridge together.

Seems like crops go into the household inventory when they’re on the plant and you travel. Taking things out of the household inventory individually is madness.

Did your Sim move recently? If you move and keep all the furniture, any plants in household inventory that hadn't been harvested will have the harvested produce separately (note: if you have a money tree that's a great way to get more seeds, especially if you want to have some to give your kids when they move out). Maybe same thing happens with chickens as well.

Not me. I think the theory above that ready-to-harvest crops just "pops" into your inventory if you travel outside the world sounds right. Seems to fit with what I experience.

No, one of the chickens it happened to as from early in my farming experience and I had named her Muriel

Like I said in the post, no I didn't move. I moved before I started the farm in Henford.
