Ever since Island living or perhaps even before I've noticed that children can no longer drown. This is strange because I remember for a fact that they used to be able to. At first I thought maybe it was an ability since I had a mermaid child and that would make sense, but then I tested it with a regular child and both in the ocean and in pools they cannot drown.Not really sure if I even have a point to this I'm just wondering why the change and why wasn't it mentioned in the patch notes?

What?? Why did they change that? Yes children could drown in pools....

Graham demoed a child Sim drowning when they first patched in pools. Someone needs to verify this, they really need to stop nerfing things from this game.

Bowdlerisation/censorship is just not a very popular subject, especially regarding TS4. Removing this ability does not help matters.

I personally don't like that children are able to die, so personally this doesn't bother me if it was intentional. That said, it's really weird that they wouldn't mention this change. I'm personally wondering if it's just a bug.

It's more restricting on my stories. Child sims can already only die from very few things. I had a story where someone lost their kid by drowning, while another family had wishes for a kid and that kid's ghost came out of the well. Little things.

fun fact: Toddlers not being able to die from fire is actually explained in the lore. In the sims 2 there is a statue of a woman who was killed in a fire after forgetting her food in the oven for too long. Her ghost actually watches over babies and toddlers and protects their skin from the flames.

I think I just assumed that they were immortal since I've never had one accidentally die in my game. It is weird that they changed it if it's always been like that in the past. Maybe it's just a bug? I swear Island Living introduced more bugs than it solved. :D

@Lustianicia definitely not the only one, but it's clearly not the place to shame or reform anyone here.
People play the game the way they want - let it be - so long as they don't drown anyone irl.

@comicsforlife @MidnightAura My adult sims still drown in both the ocean and the pool. Maybe some people are bugged but I don't think the children part is a bug.

I don’t think it’s a bug for everyone. I had a sim drown in the ocean a few days ago. And no i didn’t kill her purposefully for those concerned. The sim drowned whilst her sister was in the cave rabbit hole and I was waiting to see if anything interesting would happen as a result when she came out.

Even still, just tested and my adults are drowning in pools just fine. Seems to only be affecting certain people.
