Cinematic Camera Speed

As of a couple days ago, in the cinematic camera mode I used to be able to get into position, press V (record), and then 1, 2, or 3, to start the game clock and have my sims walking around and such.

However, today I tried to do my normal routine as described, but when I try to start the game clock using 1 nothing happens. The game is still paused. I really need this to work, I have a tricky shot that lasts only a second or two and I cannot get into position fast enough after starting the clock.

Did something change in a patch, or does this method still work for other people and I just messed up a hotkey or something?
  • You need to update the UI Extension mod. We had a patch today and the mod broke the time controls. Just saw a post from @luthienrising indicating there's an update available for it.
  • Thank you, @Stormkeep

I will download this right now! But, I don't recall ever having this mod before, will they patch this themselves so I no longer need the mod or..?
  • So the mod still didn't help, but in the comments the creator of the mod acknowledged it needs to be fixed and they will update it "when they can".

Edit: Alrighty, I guess I'll just take that right out of my mods folder lol
  • Not sure if this is related, but I've noticed that 1 doesn't always work to activate the game. Sometimes I need to press 1+0+1 and it will start. This can of course be my keyboard, but keys always respond when I'm typing etc, so I have a feeling it's a minor bug with TS4 introduced recently (Summer?).
  • It's not a mod issue. The specific feature you're describing seems to be broken.
  • @hughug, If you aren't using the mod in the first place then that isn't your problem....but the problem you describe is something happening with people using outdated versions of the mod. Don't install it if you haven't been using it in the first place...in that case it is NOT what your problem is.

Definitely report it in a bug thread. Right now EA has pointed to the mod for time-control issues, sounds like you may be indicating they have some work of their own to do and shouldn't blame the mod for the problem entirely.

Closing this out and would similarly suggest adding feedback to this thread.
