So for those people who are debating between City Life vs. Get together let's see what the majority of the simming community thinks. :)

It depends. The clubs from GT add a lot of interesting gameplay, as in being able to get particular sims grouped together doing certain things. City Living is very lively. No matter where you are in San Myshuno there is always somebody and something happening. I am particularly enjoying my sim's apartment falling apart at the drop of a hat (she lives in a 'needs TLC' apartment) and so far I've had mice twice, the electric box sparking twice (both times repaired by my sim), leaking pipes twice, a bad smell once, cockroaches once. I also enjoy the work from home option in the new careers.If somebody turned around and said "Ok, you have to choose which you prefer" I'd choose City Living, as it fits my play style better, but at this stage I suspect some of the 'new' is still there. Once that wears off, you might get a different answer.

@Arletta Yeah, I was kind of thinking the same thing...Get Together was new back then and I was like wowwowow but it turned out after that started to wear off it kind of just faded and with CL coming out well I'm back to the "wowing" stage ;)

I would pick CL over GT. In the end they are pretty evenly matched sets (minus apartments which I don't count) but in the end in CL I can leave my apartment and go work/ go eat/ and go to events to at least some extent without a loading screen. That's a big change and bigger to me then the clubs from GT. Not to mention that some of the club benefit comes in the form of the festival interactions anyway. Add to that what is arguably the best "urban immersive" environment created to date in the Sims series (within the boundary of the current graphic look versus the gritty realism in Bridgeport) and I think CL does outpace GT.

@JasonAnthonySterling Hmm...Nice idea there about the loading screens. I feel not having the loading screens sometimes probably makes a lot of simmers days :)

I thought I would omit it as GTW didn't give us a new world and wasn't as similar to how GT and CL is.

Yeah, I think that by using clubs in a city + maybe the dancing updates and stuff. That would be REAL city life huh?

How are you finding the apartments in CL? Did you choose one of the harder to live in apartments or do you have the penthouse?

So basically it is not the game play that you are into. CAS and build mode can be part of any pack, even an SP.
I appreciate the game play Get Together is offering. The club feature is a long term and has a good replay value in my game. My rich sims have a a set of housemaids, repair men etc all as clubs. CL is not offering anything long term. Festivals I already can do them in my game with my current mods. I can fill the willow creek park with a huge festival, all kind of objects, all wanted auras and many sims (over 100) on a big large area. Not crammed in a small area and without creating unwanted effects.

The only two things I like about CL is the bubble blower which I read comes with different effects and having the console. I don't see any other merit there.

No I like the gameplay. Those are just two things that I still love.

Im not the kind of players who like to deal with friendship! So happy that we dont need to have that for job objectives like in sims 2 hehe. So for me, I prefer by far city living.

a lot of you are saying BOTH, but if i can only afford one at the moment , which one do you recommend? ( i currently have Cats and Dogs, and Get to Work)

@via_izzyy: If you can only afford one I#d go with "Get Together". I just love Windenburg and i also like the pre-made Sims more (Fyres, Romeo, Bjergsen, Partypeople).

I love both but if I had to choose it would be Get Together for Windenburg, the premades, club system, items etc.

I prefer GT over CL, Cl is too restricting when it comes to building apts and with no way to add apts to other neighborhoods it is gimped.
