- City Living for me. I prefer smaller homes over mansions, so apartments are perfect. I play rags to riches so cheap apartments are a valid way to start a new household. I like the city vibe more than the suburb vibe too. Sims feel less lonely when living in a city, and I play single households. The festivals give us a nice distraction, and I like the concept of semi-active careers.
I just don't get Get Together. You do the same stuff as before, but with more people. That's all there is to it.
I think npcs annoy me a bit too so that doesn't help. - Well mines not city living.

Am I the only one that would pick GTW over GT and CL?
I wouldn't pick GTW simply because the world they gave is pathetic with only 4 lots. There were no new aspirations, so I never really worked on the new skills or owning a retail lot.
When it comes to GT or CL, it's a close call. I've played both extensively.
I have enjoyed creating my own clubs, learning dance moves, building in Windenburg as well as the CAS and build mode items for GT, though it's been a while since this is an older EP. I still build in Windenburg, still learn dance, still use CAS and build objects from this EP even if I'm not doing clubs anymore. The aspiration is very easy to reach.
I'm still playing City Living extensively. I might move a new save game into an apartment BEFORE buying a house or an empty lot. I like to try and get my sims to learn all the CL recipes. I will often send sims who don't live in the city to the city for a bite from a food cart rather than cook whether I'm playing a rags to riches type game or playing one where he/she has other things going on and doesn't want to take time cooking. Grabbing food from a food cart is much quicker than going to a restaurant. Yes, it would be great if we could add the carts elsewhere and they work without spending money to hire someone to work that cart, but maybe future packs will add different carts like C&D and JA did. We also got another aspiration, though a bit harder to achieve and a new skill.
I suppose, since I had more to say about CL, you could say I prefer it over GT, but maybe that's because it is newer.- This is a tough one. Both are great imo. I love City Living for San Myshuno (and because it reminds me of NYC, which I love) but I like Get Together because of the club system.
- Beardedgeek72New SpectatorFor me, judging by what I actually use in my games, the packs go in this order (most important on top):
1. Get Together. Basically because clubs are ESSENTIAL to me.
2. CIty Living.
3. Spa Day (I love the spa and the yoga skills)
4. Dine Out
5. Cats and Dogs
6. Parenthood
7. Vampires
The rest are just more or less filler.
Well except outdoor retreat, which I wish i could ask for money back for.
It's the second worst pack ever created for any sim game after the original vacation pack for Sims 1. - Sigzy_29New SpectatorHonestly, they are both terrible in gameplay but if I had to pick one definitely Get Together. At least it adds something tool/gameplay wise, CL is a disgrace.
Since the lot trait feature was patched there's nothing that holds CL as a relevant EP a side form the world and I wouldn't give 40€ for it, it would be almost like burning bills, I'm glad I waited and bought it half the price.
GT always brings interesting new gameplay objects while CL on the other hand has a talking robotic toilet.
Also, who necroed this? - Beardedgeek72New Spectator

This is exactly how i feel about Outdoor Retreat :)
Everybody's different. I LOVE CL. I LOVE the world, it is the first city world in the Sims that feels genine. I love the people... Quite frankly most of my households I play will end up living in San Mushino eventually. All other worlds are just so boring in comparison. - Sigzy_29New Spectator

Bridgeport felt like a city to me and the sims there weren't scripted to do this or that, they were (or felt) free. Everything in CL is refined to one world and that's what bothers me. If it were a vacation place I wouldn't mind such restrictions that much but it is not. I have huge problems with it because it doesn't reflect how content in the sims should be made.
Not to mention the price point doesn't reflect it's actual functionality. It's basically a new skin for the game with one or two new objects. And a single skill that makes 0 sense in that pack. But even some GP's have more than one skill.
I think it's cool that you like it though, but I wouldn't burn my money on it a second time. Even if it was on half the price again. - Beardedgeek72New SpectatorWell... City Life might be slightly overpriced, but Vampires is underpriced, so that evens out.
None of the stuff packs are worth more than $5 but we buy them at $10 anyway... - Beardedgeek72New Spectator

City Living. I couldn't play without apartments and festivals. Plus I use the CAS and build items from CL so much more.
Plus, that city looks like genuinely a place I would want to live.
