I use the clubs to fix a flaw I've noticed in the game... I've noticed that when you add your own townies to the game from the gallery sometimes they don't show up very frequently on community lots if at all. I just keep seeing the same randomly generated townies, which is annoying because I've added these gallery townies so my sims can meet them for prospective relationships. I've therefore created a 'singles clubs' that I add new townies to. I set their meeting place as any nightclub or bar so when my sims go out the new townie singles are actually there.
