One way you could challenge yourself is to have your sim quit their job once they get rich, buy lots of expensive items (this raises sim's bills) and then let their bills empty out their account (right now Judith Ward in my game has 27,000 in bills every week). Start a new career and repeat. You could also use testingcheats on - money X (X being # amount) to auto reduce their savings. Give sims negative traits to spice up the game even more.
