@Kathykins I simply gave up trying to squash the unwanted autonomous actions with objects. My game largely consists of cancelling things rather getting them to do things. It's why I was so miffed with no head's up as to what they are doing on the computer.
It seems to me that the game is entirely driven by object attraction with very little input from traits, emotions, etc., so stopping one object interaction simply creates another irritating object attraction resulting in adding the whack-a-mole minigame to the already existing, cancel the action minigame :)
