Computer interactions not always showing in queue

This must have started within the last patch or two.

I have now noticed, that in many cases, you don't see an interaction in a sim's queue until they are actually sat at the computer and executing the interaction, so no hope of cancelling it. And when you do cancel it, they still carry on for a good
while.

I seriously think this whole computer/video game obsession and need for sims to be using a computer is us being trolled!

Sims 4: Using a Computer Simulator

  • @Kathykins, oh, that whole attempt to introduce thing drives me crazy as well. In my case very few of the sims in my rotation turn fame on at all, but it is so annoying that in order for any of those to make friends with the ones where I do turn on fame I have to make sure to initiate the initial introduction with the famous sim.

What I do is use MCCC's MC Control function if I'm playing the non-celebrity and run into one of my celebrity played sims (while they aren't active). With MC Control you can give sims you aren't currently controlling instructions, including telling them to introduce themselves to your active sims.
  • What is the point of celebrity if you don't have fangirling? I once had the pleasure of seeing Sir Paul McCartney receive the Lifetime Achievement Award via the Grammys. Meryl Streep was falling all over herself because she was chosen to hand him the award! Normally so cool, calm, and collected, at least the times I had seen her (and not in movies but on interviews), it was funny to watch her react to his fame. And nice to see that she is human, too. :)
  • Oh I need to look that up :D I understand her, though. I mean, Paul McCartney. I'd be pretty excited too! He's a step up from Global Superstar, even.

@Stormkeep I just want my sims to get a proper introduction, so they will learn all the traits of the other sim. Just all of them in one go. I'm not going to spend sim-hours learning them the slow way. Its become an obsession, I guess. I delete any relationship without traits with MCCC, then start over with intro. Which happens very often, because random sims enter convo the same second my sim gets an intro in for ANOTHER sim. As far as I know, there is no faster way to learn traits.

Anyway, I've used MCCC tuner to turn off all the gaming-related actions I could find, and my sims are STILL heading for the computer to play games. I see no other option than to disallow anyone to use it, unless they need to for work or skills.
  • @Kathykins I simply gave up trying to squash the unwanted autonomous actions with objects. My game largely consists of cancelling things rather getting them to do things. It's why I was so miffed with no head's up as to what they are doing on the computer.

It seems to me that the game is entirely driven by object attraction with very little input from traits, emotions, etc., so stopping one object interaction simply creates another irritating object attraction resulting in adding the whack-a-mole minigame to the already existing, cancel the action minigame :)
  • That's how I feel as well :D Its a constant battle. And a reason my sims can't have nice things. And also why I try to keep them busy at all times. And turn on Talk radio or classical music on the stereos, and lock the computers for everyone. Because they just can't stay away.

I do feel they're acting on their emotions more than traits/lifestyles/etc. Sim is inspired, they head straight for the nearest easel, focused sims will head for chess tables or observatories (with the last one being more attractive). But, how I wish they would actually act on their whims by themselves! I see it as things they want to do, so why are they not doing those things? Instead they would fill their little lives with pointless wastes of time.
