Could Preteens be Next!!!

Personally I'd prefer it if they just made teens more teensy. Give them more and better interactions, maybe add some more specific teen traits, acne, mood swings, etc. Even without changing the height, I think this could help set them apart more. I just feel it'd be easier to do that than add another life stage. Especially if that life stage only differs from teens in height.

Yeah I agree with the teen patch over a Pre-teen. If I could I'd have both but teens need a patch/ep/gp/SP first.

Same here. I prefer they just fix children and teens by giving them more to do, acne, crushes, mood swings, prom, after school activities, etc.

I wouldn't want them to change the existing teenagers. I feel that they are quite old, almost adult so just a few "almost-adult-things" like getting a driver's license or stuff like that would be fun. It would be very strange indeed to try to make them smaller or try to make them feel younger. I am completely against mandatory curfew, I love having children and teenagers present in the world when I move about. I have many families that I play in rotation and I want to be able to see them. Something like curfew would have to be an optional thing.

But the addition of pre-teen could be a lot of fun, I really hope we will see them ingame one day. Make them shorter and feel younger than the current teens, that would allow a much smoother transition from todays child -> teenager. It feels like they jump from (6 - 7) years old to (17-19) years old. We just got the happy addition of toddlers, keeping my fingers crossed for pre-teens. Don't mess with the current teenagers, who I feel are quite old. Rather give us pre-teens that are shorter and act youger.

I do wish they would change the height of the teens, but mostly they just need to act like actual teens. There are a lot of great suggestions in this thread that I hope is going to be added at some point :smile:

I would also love a Teen Stuff Pack! I really miss more clothes and stuff for teens!

Just fix teen height like in previous games and bulk out how teens interact with each other to make then differ from a Young adults to elders.

I agree with this 100% not saying it isn't a possibility, but all throughout Sims the standard has usually been Baby, Toddler, Teen, College-aged/Young Adult, Adult & Elder. I don't see it changing, but anything is definitely possible :) we did get toddlers in a big patch, so who's to say we couldn't get 12-13 yr old middle kids; but I think it would add quite a load to the game, in terms of all the additional interactions/animations etc. I think the game right now is fine, but if it happens, that would be amazing, but not something I think every Simmer is pining over; we just got Toddlers after a long wait, so let's enjoy that. I'd like to see additional interactions for kids & teens, that's always fun :) just improve what we have currently, make teens & kids relatable by giving them certain activities & actions that relate to their age groups, no need for additional age group if you can just improve on what we currently have, but if what I like to call "Middle Kids" (don't really get the point of Preteen) improve the game better & the Sims Team agrees, then sure no problem, & things like height can be look passed once they have more teen activities & behaviors. & another update to this post, after what they did with toddlers; maybe they can do something similar for kids & teens, give them skill levels that they have to accomplish, like for example "a child Sim has to pass this test to get into middle school" & then for skill level ..I dunno say #4 "do these activities/interactions or assignments to graduate to high school" we don't have to change the height or add a new age group, we can just make the experiences believable & save space as well.

Personally I would prefer it if they would just flesh out the teenager and child stages a bit more.

.....you have young adults for that....teens are meant to be young-ish >.> How is it weird to make teens the way they are supposed to be? I fail to see the logic in this comment

Young Teen is what I'm going to start calling it. That's what I think we need for the Child > Teen gap.

The term Pre-Teen just sounds too much like they don't have any teen characteristics and while I would never say no to more life stages, I think we need a Young Teen life stage more than we need one that is essentially a slightly older Child. Plus I think some of the stuff people are asking for in Pre-Teen fits with Young Teens anyway.

Of course this is just one item on a long list of improvements that would be cool to see for life stages. :smile:

I think pretty much every existing stage other than toddler could do with a little more attention to their defining characteristics.
