I was just thinking about how nice toddlers are to have back in ts4 today and I thought maybe they weren't the only life stage they were working on. Then I thought to myself how empty the transition from child to teen is. It would just make tons more sense if we had the preteen life stage. I mean kids don't just go from 4th or 5th grade to high school. And yes I get not everyone has gone to middle school, but in this case it would make more sense. idk though, just my opinion. Tell me what you guys think? :) ;)

Preteen is kinda unnecessary to me, I already view "child" as preteen. But if they make them as fun as toddlers I'd enjoy them.

I'd LOVE a preteen lifestage. There would be sooooo many cool milestones to go along with that age bracket. First crush, for example. Outside of perhaps ace individuals, who doesn't remember their first serious, paralyzingly scary crush? Things like getting their first hormone induced break out would be a cool, realistic random event. Perhaps an asking to be allowed to date type interaction. A random event where your preteen wants a style change because they are growing up and want to look more mature. Basically, I just see a lot of room for new, interesting gameplay with that lifestage. I have my fingers crossed for a Generations style GP or EP. One that fixes some of the odd quirks to the current lifestages, such as children that stay up and out alone to all hours of the night hitting up nightclubs and a lack of curfew for teens and children alike. New age-appropriate venues would be SUCH a blessing. Arcades, skate parks, self sustaining malls/shopping centers for teens and preteens, parks that actively attract/spawn other children for your sim kids to play with, a kid-friendly restaurant option so that we can build a Chuck E Cheese style eatery that kids will actually get up and play at in between bites of pizza. Places like that. But yeah, I would love family play to be expanded upon and I feel that a preteen lifestage could easily go along with that and really make it something special.

I've always wanted a preteen life stage, more than toddlers. I always found the transition between child and teen really jarring since essentially, teens are young adults at school.

If not, then it's the least they can do..that or actual real babies..either would be amazing.

I agree, all they really need to do is shrink down teens a foot or two and I'd be super happy.

I see the kids in this game as 7-9 and the teens as 16-19 so preteens would fill that gap for me. Preteens would add so much because there is so much change during the time between child and teen and at this point this game offers nothing for it.

I would just have them make Teens look like actual teens, they're way too tall and similar to young adults, so really, they just need to shorten the teens in game to somewhere between child and young adults and add things like acne and other teen issues and they're good to go

I don't think they need to add another life stage from scratch, because like i said above, the teens just need to be adjusted to actually look like teens

Yup that's pretty much how I feel about it. Plus if they did add preteens then added in stuff people are talking about (crushes, acne and so forth) that means that the child and teen lifestates won't get it.

I feel confident that if there is a generations pack coming down the pike that pre-teens will be a part of it. I am very optimistic about this because after seeing these last two addition, toddlers and Vampires, anything is possible and certainly probable and will in all likely hood be done in a great way.

See, here in England, 10, 11 and 12 year olds are children. To us, children become teens when they hit their teen years (thirTEEN), hence the term. There is no 'pre', it's just 'child' or 'teenager'.

I'm not opposed to the idea of this life stage, I really just don't see the point of it, and how long will it last? 3 sim days? I'd rather just have better, fleshed out teens that *look* and act the part.

Not everyone plays with aging on so for me "3 Sim days" would not be the same as it is for you as I have not aged a single Sim since release except 3 babies. So preteen would be a permanent life stage changing my family dynamics greatly. Why do we have to settle for fleshed out teens or preteens why do we have to limit ourselves when we could make everyone happy.

The whole pre-teen thing is the U.S is actually a pretty new concept. It really only started getting momentum for the newest generation. I agree that kids are pre-teen. For the sims I feel like it's not necessary and will only be adding stuff that could be added for the kids or the teenagers, that means those lifestates won't get it.
