Create a way to get babies/kids back from Social Services

the game makes several saves as backup, so maybe there is a chance to get the baby back
@luthienrising knows how to roll back

but i agree, there should be a gameplay option to get the child back
a game shouldn't be that unforgiving

I agree- every so often I find that my baby's icon will be green, so I'll be off elsewhere in the house thinking that the baby's all good, until I get a notification saying that it's hungry! Recently I had a baby taken away because this happened, but I missed the notification... It'd be pretty useful if the baby went into the adoption system, so you could get them back at some point

I almost lost my baby last night because my game was being weird. The baby was STILL SLEEPING and I got a message saying if I didn't feed my baby soon she would be taken away. like how was I supposed to know?! Usually they wake up and cry when they need something but this baby just slept. then when the mother sim fed her it still showed the Z's on the crib. I ended up aging her up because i figured it was a glitch but it would be nice if there were a way to get them back. would be more realistic.

@MzPigglyPooh I've had a couple of those quiet babies that you forget about because they never cry but since I started doing the 100 baby challenge, it seems like all they EVER do is cry. I put one in the basement bc I was tired of hearing it. That was the one Social Services should have taken instead of my sweet little Rio. I get way too attached to my Sims.

I liked the TS2 style better where children taken into care went into an adoption bin (sounds awful but that's what it was called) and when you adopted a child from another household, the child was there. I think the adoption system in TS4 could be improved in several ways. I strongly dislike it as it is.

im glad im not the only one. I can imagine how much crying you heard. Yikes. I would try to participate but my own baby wont let me consistently play ts4 for long. I think now a days my game stays pause more that i actually get to play. My kids are like night and day. When my 3 year old sleeps my 4 month old is up and vice versa.

I just recovered my lost child, and all I lost was that days progress up until the event. You use your last saves!

Find your save files at "Documents > Electronic Arts > Sims 4 > Saves"
You will see a long list of files with names like Slot_000000012.save or Slot_000000012.save.ver1. Each file number has up to six versions, the higher the version number, the older the file (.ver4 is the oldest)
The one with the ".save" file extension is the file that would load if you launched the game and continued from where you left off, this is the one you want to delete. Right-click the save you want to load and choose Rename, Delete the part of the file name after .save. (ver...) Click Enter.
Example: "Slot_000000012.save.ver4" should now be "Slot_000000012.save"

Load your game and keep playing like nothing happened!
