When I bought Cats and Dogs, I was hoping at least strays would spawn everywhere but I find adding them to houses helps make the worlds seem a little more lively with animal activity.

I don't think I have created any pets for unplayed households, but whenever my pets have offspring I give some of those to unplayed households. I should definitely add places for pet owners to hang out. I have one cat hangout in Glimmerbrook, but it doesn't work there, no cats ever show up.

Absolutely. When Cats and Dogs first came out, I had a blast with the pet CAS creator so I made a bunch of animals and dispersed them to some of the NPC households. The Landgrabs have an Afghan Hound because it looked pretentious, lol.

Ah, that's an awesome idea! I never did this in the past, but I have a mod allowing for a few strays in any world, so I covered my need to see a random cat or dog that way. But some NPCs definitely should have a pet... hmmm...

I've been doing this as I build my base save as a way to limit how many random townies are generated. You can fill out a world as much as possible, but if there aren't enough pet owners then the game will generate them for you whenever you visit a pet friendly lot.

@LiELF Well now...that's funny. Great minds think alike, they say ;)

@Simpatsyann If you make a lot dog and/or cat friendly, then yes - Sims (and celebs as well if you give them pets) will show up everywhere with their pets.

I do this too but I don't spend any time in CAS to make a perfect pet if I'm not playing that sim. But certain sims will get specific breeds like Diego Lobo has a poodle, The Feng's have a Persian cat, Penny Pizazz has a chihuahua and the Goth's have two black cats. Just a few examples there. I need to extend the life of pets though through MCCC because it seems like they die quicker when I'm not playing them.

This is a good idea now that I'm starting a vet in one of my households. It would make the customers more interesting if more premade households had pets.
