I really could’ve used the mudroom kit back when I built that Sims house with the awkward hallway between the kitchen/dining room and the living room. Instead, my poor Sims just tracked puddles and dust bunnies through it like it was their full-time job.

You can place a Shoes off sign or rack in your lots so sims take their shoes off when entering the house. I don't think the mudroom kit actually helps with that.
