Dampened Emotions and Influence Emotions?

Dampened emotions at the max level make your vampire sim pretty much forever 'fine', unless something significant happens to change said emotion i.e. using Beguile.

Influence emotions cause every other sim around the vampire initiating the action to have the max level emotion state i.e. Enraged.

My vampire sim has dampened emotions and they don't experience the effect of the initiation of their own influence emotion ability, only those around the vampire sim. Be warned using the influence emotion ability, as your vampire sim may be the last standing sim in the room. >:)

@Jeansoo I use them both. Dampened emotion puts the Vampire in a state of 'Fine'. They don't react to happy, flirty, sad, etc. moodlets. I like this for storytelling purposes & using it one one of my current saves.

The Influence Emotion is very powerful. You can burst any emotion on a group of Sims in a certain radius and they will feel the effect of whatever the emotion is. You can use it for good or use it for evil. I like to use it for good when I'm in a club setting and want my entire club to be in a certain mood or I use it in the household if I want everyone to be in certain emotion. But I've also used it for bad...without knowing what it did originally lol & my Sim used Burst of Anger when The Spin Masters rejected her....let's just say every member of Spin Master died.

Note that Influence Emotion boosts emotion of nearby sims depending on the rank of the ability.

Allows your Sim to give an emotion to nearby Sims. Affects a large area around the Sim, causing a +2 Moodlet at rank 1 of any emotion you choose. At rank 3, it gives +8 versions of those Moodlets. It can therefore be used to kill Sims, as a couple of jokes or a slap to the face will put Sims over the line for enragement or hysteria.

So if you want people to be near to death from stuff like Anger, make sure to get rank 3. If you only want a small dose of emotion, say to cause a little mischief, probably don't want to go past rank 1.

Thanks for sharing your experiences. Is it working for vampire itself as well? If it works, then I can buy Odder..? which stops hygiene decrease, then put himself into the certain required emotion from work? haha

influence emotion only affects other sims around you not the sim using it so you would need another vamp to use the ability on your sim.

They're immune to emotional deaths.

is there a way to reset the dampened emotions? i tried reseting my vampire power, it worked for a short time, and after a longwhile playing i noticed that the dampened emotions returned. when i checked the vampire powers, the dampened emotions is still not selected but my family sim has dampened emotions.
