- VWoodsong4 years agoSeasoned AceI have fairly long custom lifespans and I keep aging on for everyone. I do feel sad when my favorites go, but I occasionally give the the ones I really like a new (alternative) life in a different save. So in that sense they never truly die.
- GalacticGal4 years agoLegendIt's a mixed bag for me. While I missed the possibility of Death by anything other than Old Age, I very much dislike it when a Sim (in my cast) dies when it's not their time to exit, stage left. Just had a very untimely death in my game. My bad, for spending my time nearly exclusively in one household and not bothering to check on the one where the death occurred. Amanda isn't allowed to pass until after she finally has grandchildren. But, I failed to check on her to change how many days she was in her Elderly state and got word she passed. So, being a well-chastened Watcher I exited the game, hoping I hadn't saved after the demise of a key Character. I had, sadly. So, I did the next thing possible. I moved the family out of their house and replaced them with their copy from My Library. (So much easer this way, since friendships and romances are far easier to restore than familial relationships, or so I have learned very recently.) Then I used a mod, MCCC, to fix the relationship between Spock and Brianna, and while I was at it, gave Brianna relationships with her future in-laws. Hey, these little 'fixes' help. Better that than to totally restart, no? Oh, and I made certain to delete the other family from the game, totally. Can't have Doppelgängers lurking about.
(This from the Queen of Restarts.) - Since I create all my Sims with specific purpose in mind, there is no garantee that the next generation can replace them. Also I play rotational with a lot of household so if my Sims autoaged their is a risk that some of my elderly Sims would die before I get around to play them.
- I mean it depends but plotting sim tragedies is one of my favourite things to do
i do play aging off tho which is probably one reason its not really too sad to let go of sims as their death is almost always timely - HavenRose20204 years agoNew AceWhen it’s their time, it’s their time. By the end of their life they usually have enough offspring that I have new fun sims to play with complex backgrounds. That said, there are enough in-game mechanisms for prolonging life (ambrosia, youth potions, vampires, etc.) that if it’s not their time, I’ll use those things to prolong a sim’s life while their neighbors and children age around them.
- Isharell4 years agoSeasoned AceAs with many polls for me, it depends. If it seems like a natural progression, ok. I wasn't worrying if a fox or bunny or whatever popped off. If it happens unexpectedly to one of my faves, heck no - I'll go back a game save. I just killed off Malcomb Laandgrab in my Millionaire Scenario and it was very much fun.
- Kimmer_one4 years agoSeasoned AceIt's normal but I have to say that I have some Sims that I've kept adults for too long. I've used some potions of youths on my favorite Sims to prevent them aging up into elders.
I'm getting used to the idea of losing them too and I think I'm ready to let them age up now. I don't want them to be the same age than their children, it would be weird. - EmmaVane4 years agoSeasoned AceUnexpected deaths are fun. I always plead with Grim if I can, but it's ultimately up to him if they die.
Old age deaths are just part of life. Though I wish Elder premades got some bonus days to make up for the fact I don't have time to earn them for them. - I get a pinch of sadness when it happens, but there’s also some relief.
- AfterMidnight134 years agoSeasoned NewcomerI rarely get attached to my sims when I’m playing them like I usually do (challenge-based, usually legacies), so when they die, it’s just a Tuesday for me.
