- dianed4857 years agoSeasoned AceCan sims get killed even if they just have goldfishes in that pond ?
Also there is a cheat to disable death. - I hope that townies will autonomously jump in -- I can think of a few premades I wouldn't mind taking a dip. B) >:)

Seasons made it possible for about 2 weeks after release then people started whining and now it's plum near impossible for a sim to die from weather unless you force them too. There's almost no challenging aspects to this game whatsoever.
People "whined" about that because it was affecting their games in a really dumb way. It's one thing to encourage more encounters with death in the game but they should make sense. The concept of someone deciding to go on a jog during a blizzard and freezing to death all for the sake of losing a couple pounds is ridiculous
Yeah, there’s a difference between a decent chance for death and having a dozen unplayed sims freeze to death outside a gym because one guy died and everybody else had to go see.
I still think this was mod induced in old saves, because I tried and tried and tried to have it happen in a brand new vanilla save by playing winter on 28 days and letting my sim go about their business indoors and watching the neighborhood and by taking him to the gym and watching the outside while he worked out I side and it never once happened. All that ever happened was joggers would turn really blue going by the house and just when I thought they were done for, they would despawn. Outside the gym the would turn super blue but run very quickly indoors, no matter how long I waited. Even Simguru Nick never to my knowledge managed to recreate it, but now weather deaths like alien abductions have basically been tuned out of the game completely and we are back to nothing random ever happens, ever.
My Sim witnessed one death, when Gunther Munch died when jogging in winter. (Both he and his wife Cassidy died the same night, leaving their teens orphaned; that really upset me. I went with it though and had the kids sell the house and move to a San Myshuno apartment to live with their stepbrother.) Katrina Caliente tends to freeze as well (ironic considering the last name); I blame the skimpy outfits she keeps wearing. Even with the deaths being toned down I still get Sims dying well before their time (I have MCCC so I get alerts when Sims die), though they are fewer than before the adjustment. - Simburian7 years agoSeasoned AceThey would have to come back as a skeleton ghost if eaten by piranhas. :#

I haven't had a non player induced death outside of old age since a few months after getting this game back in 2015, and the only reason I get any alien abductions or contact at all is because I too have MCCC and tune it up. Otherwise I can honestly say that hasn't happened in a vanilla save in nearly as long. My prediction holds. Somebody's sim(s) will somehow autonomously die in this new pond and it will be tuned down to a giant mud puddle. - This is exactly why we can't have nice things. Can we wait to actually see about this death type, rather than what you thought you saw on video?
- Being the New Shiny Death, it might have gotten a bit overhyped. The SimsCampers may have also had access to some cheats that made it more likely for Sims to jump in and get munched on (from what I've heard the death is just a new way of drowning without the effort of building a wall around a pool). I'm still getting the random death from freezing (ironically considering the name it's typically Katrina Caliente, usually in San Myshuno when she's wandering around at night in her skimpy outfits) but at least the joggers and basketball players are safe now.

I hope they don't tune it down. Ugh! Every time we get something that can cause some randomness and some negative consequences they tune it down. It's really pretty boring to know every time you create a sim they are basically 100% guaranteed to live to be a thousand years old because nothing bad will ever happen to them unless you absolutely force it to.
Seasons made it possible for about 2 weeks after release then people started whining and now it's plum near impossible for a sim to die from weather unless you force them too. There's almost no challenging aspects to this game whatsoever. Now I suppose we'll get this pond people will install it Sims will die, they will cry on here and instead of just being told to delete the pond it will get tuned down to a glorified goldfish bowl.
I actually have found that Seasons has greatly increased my sim deaths. Granted one was by laughter (which seems to happen a lot), but my poor teen also died from freezing to death. Two unplanned deaths in two generations. That would have never happened previously. I hate it, but I like it at the same time "Pamtastic72;c-16811579" wrote:

I've had several abductions in the last month, no mods. Maybe you haven't had the right circumstances (a Sim in the science career, stargazing at night, or having a telescope)."invisiblgirl;c-16812685" wrote:

Yeah I've had one Sim be abducted four times now, got pregnant on three of them... bit exhausting. She isn't a scientist and was inside on two of the occasions. I've had to resetSim her twice as well to stop it happening again!"loubyloulou;c-16811408" wrote:

A lot of the Sim Camp videos show sims dying in the pond and not just by sharks and piranhas but fairies and koy fish as well.
What's happening is their drowning. I can see maxis having to tune this with a patch later. From what I've heard the death rates from drowning is high.
There are fairies in the pond??! :o
Yes. They're called Sprites.
