Did they fix the CL festivals yet.

Most Festivals work ok, but the festival speakers stop playing when it starts raining. Venders don't stay in the vending area during a thunderstorm, or when its cold they tend to hang out in the active lot. Most of the other festivals its just a minor inconvenience, there is only one festival seasons has actually broke completely and that is the Geek Con Festivals, because when it rains all the stuff stops working and breaks. I haven't done the Geek con festival since seasons was released because of that.

I was just wondering if there was any update on the broken city living festivals and if they fixed them yet. Its been a while since I played them directly.

Fixed typo on tittle.

  • There is a mod that keeps electronics from breaking in the rain. I use this one, and it has made a huge difference in my game, and the Geek Con Festival. Here is a link in case you would like to check it out.

  • Yes, mods work, but they got to be updated every time a patch comes and unfortutely I feel it may not be a popular mod, and another problem lately with mods is there is a group that is duplicating all the independend mod sites with copies that spread viruses, so the mods are not 100% trustworthy. I have got like 4 virus by visiting mod sites I thought was legit only to find out they are just copied sites. So far the hit is FS17, and 19 really bad, the virus fraud site is higher on google than the true real version. I got a virus file trying to find a mod to make it snow in Oasis's Springs, because game wants to tell me what I can and can't do.
  • That's why I use virus protection. Once I download something I never open it up until after I give it a double check.
  • Yes, but they are spreading virus a new way with disc image that can't be scanned until its opened and when its opened its too late.
  • None of what you described in your initial post sound like bugs. Electronics break when it rains, and sims don't like getting wet, so they stay inside during storms. The game is working as intended, it's just inconvenient for festivals, so I don't think it's something they'd ever fix because it's not considered broken. Mods are likely your only option.
  • Except for the Geek con festival you can not do any of the contests when it shows up on days it rains, because the computers break so the hackathon is out and the game backs break so the game competition is out so maybe they should just spawn a freaken skating ring during that time. That is the major problem with packs not being tested with the other packs the newer packs tend to break the older packs in ways not intended to do so. Can't we get a weather machine that is portable that way we can change the weather where ever we go, so the weather don't interfere with the other packs. I am really deeply disappointed that the weather machine is not portable. Also so far its winter in Strangervillie and no sign of snow so its another useless desert to me, with the believed notion that all deserts are always hot. Maybe one day they will create a desert world I would actually like. I ain't really going to say anything until I bring the weather machine in but that is another topic all together. Get famous also seems to pull its weight around in that town.
