Dine Out Outfit Switch is Ruining My Dates

I put together everyday outfits for my sims' dates to a restaurant that specifies everyday outfits. Then I left the sims in their house with the outfit on that I wanted them to wear. I brought one sim I was playing and one sim from a different household on a date, and the sim from the other household showed up outside in the correct outfit. However, once they stepped inside the restaurant, the non-played sim changed into a different everyday outfit, even though they were already wearing an outfit from that category. This happened two out of two times so far at two different restaurants.

Is there any way to prevent this or to get the non-played sim to change into an exact outfit? I tried doing "ask to see outfit" a few times, switching from other categories back into everyday, but it never rolled the desired outfit, so I gave up.

  • I'm not sure if this is what you are looking for, you'll need to read the description to see if this is what you want, and also there is some important information in there regarding the mod. Also if you decide to go with this mod, this person who does these is very good at keeping their stuff updated.

  • Is it possible to edit the restaurant to not specify any type of outfit requirement?

Yes, this is possible, but then they would be showing up in whatever outfit they are currently in. Which would still not help the OP.
  • @shepard It sure does. Click the sim, select MC Command Center->MC Dresser->Change Outfit. It brings up the same outfit selection that you get when changing outfits on an active sim. I use it quite frequently for the very seem reasons that @QueenofMyshuno expressed annoyance over in the topic post.
  • @Stormkeep ah nice, I thought I had it confused for Sims 3's Nraas mod for a second there ?
  • @LaBlue0314 Thank you SO MUCH for that link. I actually already have that modder's dress code trait mod, so that works out perfectly to get the one you suggested, too.

@LaBlue0314 and @KalopsianDreamer I thought you HAD to choose an outfit category for the restaurant, but I guess you are saying I can just un-select the one I have and there won't be an outfit type specified? I will try it. Thanks for letting me know. I'm still going to get that awesome mod that LaBlue suggested, though.

@Shepard and @Stormkeep Ahhh - MCCC. I have been resisting getting it because I have a gazillion CC items and I heard that even 1 bad item can break MCCC, but it seems like MCCC does absolutely EVERYTHING, so I think I'm going to have to break down and try it eventually!!

Thank you everyone for your help!!! It's so much more fun to play when you have a community of nice people you can go to for help when there's an issue. :):):)

Doesn't MCCC have an option to set a sim's outfit?

Yes, it does have that option. It's dresser. I use it because even though I've given each Sim in my household 2 formal outfits, the new daughter-in-law constantly shows up at Chez Llama in her wedding gown. Face/palm. Guess she wants to make sure she gets her money's worth out of it or something. So, I click on her and then cheats and then dresser which leads to change outfit at the top.
