Disabilites, Maybe?

I don't know why I'm getting the feeling that Thursday's #playwithlife video might be related to some sort of disability update. Wheelchairs, perhaps? Real elevators/lifts? I've seen many tweets using the PlayWithLife hashtag where simmers say the game helps them with depression or other disabling conditions. A guru who watched the video said it brought tears to his eyes. Hmmmm...

I would love having blind/deaf pets/humans/occults in the game <3

Dogs are very therapeutic! I worked as an RN for several years in various VA Regional Medical Centers. We would get a good number of vets home from the wars with PTSD. That's where I learned of a program of training dogs to be a therapeutic support for those with severe PTSD - and it really works! The very presence of their dogs calms them down when they have a panic attack. The dogs are loyal and very protective of their charges. It's such a therapeutic relationship! It beats having the patient taking any psych meds or any harmful habits like chain smoking to get rid of their panic and anxiety. I think it would be a nice career for sim dogs!

It would also be cool to have a sim career that trains such dogs for either PTSD or blind/deaf clients. Usually they start training these dogs from the puppy stage so maybe also learn to breed for the right temperament!

we can kind of. i had nothing to do with it because i don't have the depressed trait. but somehow my sim anthony suffers from depression. when he grew into a young adult was when i researched companion dogs. his greyhound dixie changed his life. greyhounds were number1

he now has a wife 2 kids and a full time job. and dixie seems to know when he needs to be cheered up. she goes right to him.

I'd like to have a wheelchair in game. In TS3 I used to fake one for photographs using two bikes.

But as a wheelchair would need new animation I think it won't come to TS4. :(

    Its The Sims
Of course will be a cure, and depends disability, would be different way of cure.
Could be surgerical (some few, as no walk) or a magical medicine (Ambrosia or a medicine purchased with Satisfaction points)

The idea that people with disabilities need to be "cured" is a controversial concept in some communities, and if the dev team is doing their research, they'll know this.

I'm guessing they will simply have the option for it to exist or not exist in the game, rather than to force it in and provide a magical "cure."

You want than disabilities come at a pack or a patch?
If patch, quite sure than will be without uption to exclude it, OR like custom genders, CAS only

@leo3487 Sorry, for some reason, I didn't see this reply.

I think I read somewhere that the dev team has already said if they do it at all, it would be a patch, not a pack. I'd expect they'd do it like custom genders, as others have expressed earlier in the thread. That puts the control in the hands of the player, who decides what accommodations an individual Sim needs and why.

Then you must know from grnder patch, it is CAS only, no for generated sims
