Do we still have ideal work emotions?

@Anthonydyer, Yes, it was removed! Now any positive emotion is good to go.

Oh wow. I didn't know that. I was trying to make my writers inspired and then I realized that was not on the career page. I wonder why they changed it.

@AnthonyDyer, they removed it to make things less repetitive I imagine...I mean, we'd all queue up the same easy-emotion giver every day right before work just to meet that requirement. Like if i had a sim with a career that needed Insightful, I'd always just take a thoughtful shower or admire some art in the hour right before work. It wasn't really complimentary to the game, just made an aspect of it tediously repetitive. They figured that out. It's nice, because now we can have our sims do whatever we want before work, as long as we keep them in a good mood.

Emotions still matter for skill-building though, so that writer is still going to want to get inspired before sitting down to write a novel.

Oh wow, I didn't even notice this, but I guess I was playing the new acting career. This will make emotions seem less of a chore and more of a mood stance. I prefer it this way actually.

I didn't even notice either until I read this thread and checked. I never really used the ideal emotions. I found it really wasn't necessary for a promotion.

I wasn't too big on the ideal emotions. I just did it when my sims were too poor and needed to be promoted. It was kind of a pain in the butt, but it is somewhat realistic.

@kalaksed, that's good to know! I haven't done any active-careers yet, so will keep it mind. Thanks for the info.

Yep, all gone! Just make sure they go to work in a positive mood!

Im glad they removed it. It was very tedious and half the time I forgot and they had a blah day at work!

Hah, I've played some careers so many times I had the ideal emotion memorized and have been sending Sims off to work inspired/focused/energized anyway, thinking it was a bug. Glad to know that's a feature and not an glitch.
