Do you age up your babies or let them age naturally?

I let mine age up naturally, but every once in a while I will age up a child to teen on a Friday so they can have the weekend to hang out with friends and build skills up. I play on long, and generationally, so I like to let the family spend tons of time together so they are all very good friends and the longer time lets me build up more skills before they become adults.
