- Yes. I personally prefer it over this new pack.
- Lumiasta8 years agoSeasoned AceYes. I don't go there very often, though. Mostly if the sim I'm playing currently has personality that needs to learn herbalism and get the aspiration done, or get out in the wild. Or if the sims keep coming home with the 'need a vacation' moodlet.
My savegame is still the same I started when the game originally came out, so by now many families have perfect Granite Falls herbs, any scientist worth their genetically altered salt has the potions and a cloning machine, and I do even have the mod (one of the two I use) that allows me to debug-place insect spawners, although granted I haven't been playing with that as much as I should. Aaand as @kalaksed mentioned, I also made a little park with the Granite Falls fish spawners, just for the sims who don't have any interest in camping or outdoors aspiration, but obsess about completing their fish collection. My vampires tend to have rows of full fish tanks around, I like to imagine different fishies have plasma taste variations.
That said, I've been recently going to Granite Falls with the couple I plan to take adventuring to Selvadorada, to prepare them for the jungle!
I've edited the rentals into sort of Nordic countryside houses (no tvs or computers) and/or log cabins. I also have The Cabin restaurant from the gallery that @kalaksed mentioned (and told me about, had to get it!) and a while ago I edited the Hermit's House into a sort of a yurt, since I also edited the hermit after Ayawaska of the Youkols (from the game Syberia 3).
Bringing doggies with you actually creates a completely different feel to the camping, since now you go jogging with the doggies in the forest, which is very entertaining to follow. Can catch insects without breaking the doggie-walking, too! 'n the doggies can make new friends...

I'm busy making impeccable quality distillations ect... I have a few more to make then I'll be ready to clone them. I plan on making a retail store to use in a non playable fashion to stock them in. I hope it all works out. I recently played it with a dog that my sim met there ... lol they were renting a lot all alone (that makes sense).
- I use it a lot. I always find a way to adapt it to whatever household or rotational safe I am playing. Sometimes I turn it into quite a posh vacation with luxurious spas and such, other times, I leave it as it is and at the moment I have it more focused on the off the grid/yoga retirement centre kind of thing.
Most of my Sims are outdoorsy and it's great to disconnect and suits many different types of Sims if you like to build and personalize lots.
In general, I always combine it somehow with Spa Day either to make luxurious spas or like now to build eco-yoga centres. - GrumpyGlowfish8 years agoSeasoned AceI own Outdoor Retreat, but I have to say the beautiful forest scenery is probably the best thing about Granite Falls. There's hardly anything to do there, especially nothing that raises fun, so even my nature-loving sims get bored rather quickly. The potions brewed with the herbalism skills can be quite useful, though, and I'm looking forward to seeing how they will come into play in Jungle Adventures.
- pepperjax12308 years agoSeasoned AceI have it but I can't ever get the Hermit to be at their house don't you need a certain recipe from them for the herbalism skill?

You can put a outdoor theater in Granite Falls for something to do. I actually found one in the gallery but you need the Movie Hangout Stuff Pack. - Hermitgirl8 years agoSeasoned AceYou no longer need to learn the recipe from the hermit to complete that aspiration.. not sure when they changed it.
- Yes. It's not one of my most used packs, but I still like it. I like sending my sims out camping in the tents :) I rarely use the cabins, except when I'm having a big family holiday, like Christmas :)
- paradiseplanet278 years agoSeasoned AceI have OR yes, and use a lot of the CAS items often for that "outdoor feel". I rarely find uses for the BB items and confess that I've actually never gone vacationing to GF yet...I mean, I've made Sims specifically for camping there and planned households to go there, but then somewhere down the line they get busy and I forget about their vacation plans, or they become a live-in nanny and have to keep the toddler in mind, etc. Well the latter part will not be much of a problem then if I can bring the tot along now.
- @paradiseplanet You should go! It's a beautiful world. Very peaceful.
