I play on Long, first off and decide when my Sims will age up, myself. Also, I'm not even opposed to restarting the same family of Sims. Countless times. Yes, I admit I restart often. Sometimes it's to be able to fully enjoy the extent of a new pack (such as when Parenthood came out), but it's also based on whether the experiment with a mod new to me worked out. Had one that was loads of fun until I flat out lost a Sim. There was no recovering her. She was kidnapped and the scenario that was supposed to run got caught in a loop to the point that no matter how much money her Global Superstar older brother paid the kidnappers there was no rescue of his sister, possible. That was a buzz-kill.
So, I removed the mod, which I was told was rife with issues. I moved on and found other mods that would give me a sense of unpredictability in the game. I'm having a blast again. Restarted. No worries, I keep my lots and households in My Library. The only thing I regret is having to set up the neighborhoods again, which takes time. I attempted once to create a back-up of the set-up neighborhood, but I managed to mess that up, somehow.
I just cleaned out my saves folder prior to the patch. While I was waiting I restarted my same two game saves. Happily, the main mods I need are good to go, with a hotfix for MCCC I just put in this morning. Road to Fame wasn't listed as broken, so we'll see. I do hope the same occurs for another mod. And that SimsRealistic will get Private Practice up and running again, soon.
