Do you play with aging on or off?

I don't want my sims to live forever but I do play with aging off because I want to be able to age up my sims when I want to, not when the game tells me :)

I play with aging off until my sims have maxed out their careers. Then I turn aging on while they live out the rest of their lives. Focusing on a career can be time-consuming, so if I don't turn aging off, I feel like my sims are always already close to being elders by the time I'm ready to let them focus on other things.

I play with aging on, but I make sure to make the sim I play live forever one way or another. I know I could just turn off aging for played sims only, but I often fix a few things for other households (like making unemployed pre-made sims get a job), and I want them to age naturally, so there it is.

I mix it up. I usually turn aging off at the start of a new game involving CAS sims, to give them time to establish some skills and relationships -- which they would have had already had they grown up in the game. I always turn aging off if I'm playing a Sim who is going to uni, otherwise they'd graduate just in time to join AARP. I may also turn aging off if I'm working on a challenge of sorts, like finishing an aspiration.

I primarily play with aging off and I have been since the Sims 2 with the exception of legacy challenge saves. Occasionally I do want aging so I’ll turn it on for the active household only or if it’s only one sim (ei I want a child to be a teen) I’ll bake a birthday cake for them.

Off mostly because I miss the super long aging from the Sims 3!

I said in-between because I turn it on and off a lot within the same save. The long lifespan is too long for me but normal is too short. So I just kinda do my own thing with it.

I have a save where all the worlds are filled with OCs of mine (and their families) and I play that world with aging totally off because I just want to play out stories among my characters without worry of death I'm not around to witness.

My other saves all age either normal speed or with the long life speed, as they are challenges or legacies that I've been working on!

On. Always on. I've used MCCC to extend their lives, but they always age and die. I love playing generations.

I find it easier to play with aging off, I wouldn't remember to turn it off/on whenever, or what family/save I'd want it off/on. I never play with elders, I find their idle animations annoying, and I don't want to get YET another mod to remove YET another annoyance in the game.

I invest a lot of time on my sims, as we all do. Some of them have 20+ skills maxed, topped off several careers and done many aspirations. If they get old and die, that time is wasted. Around 80% of my sims are vampires, I keep aging off for the few that aren't.

Only problem I can see with aging off for all sims: babies in unplayed households won't grow up either. Don't really know how to handle that.
