I skip babies and toddlers. I've never played babies and most recently i've started to skip toddlers. I know that the toddler stage gives realism to the game, with all the difficulties of raising a little one, but after so many legacies it started to feel too repetitive. So, as soon as my sims give birth i age the babies all the way to kids. In this stage i already can give them different lifestyles and goals that make it more interesting to play them.What about you? Do you skip any life stage? Why?

I say I "skip" babies because I age them up nearly immediately unless I have a reason not to (practically unheard of), but I also play with aging off so no one grows up unless I tell them to. Babies really have no value as a life state right now, other than realism. They just screech in the background and wait to become toddlers. No major play, they feel like objects (though I get more enjoyment out of the fish tanks and small pet cage), etc. So yeah, I will continue to "skip" this stage until there is finally a reason for me not to.I do not skip toddlers in 4. I did in 3. They were the embodiment of constant maintenance in 3. They are not the easiest thing now, but I always remember that they used to be so much worse so I do not care a lick.Kids do get boring after a while because of all their limits. Just to name a few odd ones, they cannot walk dogs, bathe pets, have certain kids skill activities/toys (in fact, though I like the kids gateway skill thing they have very few objects to gain certain skills), cannot really garden, the chores are kind of lacking until they become teens, etc. Another thing constraining for kids and teens is the school system. Normally it is fine, but if you are doing any kind of story where you need a break from school or none at all you either have to ignore it and cheat (which is super annoying, especially with the principal calls) or set everyday to free holiday (which is also a pain).Beyond that, all the life state are fairly similar so no reason to avoid any.

I havent started skipping any of them yet, in ts4 at least. I even keep the babies for several days since i feel they are easier to care for than toddlers, i dont age them up until i feel like having more responsibilities.

Babies. And sometimes toddlers, because i'm missing the patience to go over all that pottytraining when i want to play a specific idea/story.

I often skip the baby stage because they do nothing at all. I've been a proponent for more to do for elderhood because I love the life stage, and I'm really glad to be getting something more for them to do. Don't get me wrong. I don't believe knitting is an elders only thing and will use it for as many age groups as are allowed, but its a step in the right direction for me. Something low impact they can do without dying of over-exertion. Now, babies...they lay there and cry and can't even leave their bassinets. Its sad to me so I tend to skip them.

I might age up babies quicker, but i never outright skip them :p

I actually only play toddlers kids and teens with a few young adults. Never any of the other ones.

I used to skip babies for a while after my Sims had their baby taken away while I was editing one of them in CAS via mirror or wardrobe (time didn't stop for some reason).
I was afraid it would happen again and I became a bit paranoid. I aged babies immediately for a while.
Now I don't do that anymore. I don't skip any life stages.

It's not often I play with my Sim's kids, usually I have them live with the other parent, but when I occasionally do, I skip all the way to their teens.

Not now, but in the future, I am going to start skipping the child stage because they are just soooo boring. I love todders and find teenagers fine, but I hate how the children just sit around chatting with their parents all day everyday unless I order them to do something. Where are all the games for children to play together with their siblings and friends?

I skip babies, toddlers sometimes if they get too annoying. But its pretty rare I play the baby stage for more than a day.

At times I enjoy playing (small) sim families but my preferred way to play is by only having one active sim who most of the time is a vampire. At some point my vampire usually end up having npc lovers and npc partners and any children will end up being raised by the npc. So I guess that I don't skip any life stage I just outsource them to the npc ^^ And thanks to different mods I can watch the children get married, have their own children and so on. I quite enjoy following my sims descendants :)

I'm usually not in the mood for demanding little baby things and toddler tantrums. It's far easier to make them than to care for them. o:)
Kids, sometimes. They need more game play.
Teens...meh. They're too big for their own good.
YA & Adults. Always.
Elders: They need more gameplay. Canes. Please give them canes. Their backs always seem sore. And if there was only a knitting pack. Oh well...

I don't skip anything. I don't even age my sims up until it's their birthday.
