Do Your Sims Regularly Visit Other Worlds?

This topic was prompted by a comment in another thread. @LMLS2143 indicated she/he missed Brindleton Bay because it's been a while since she/he played a save there.

I only play one save, one family so I have venues and extended family and friends to visit in all worlds.

Do you regularly visit other worlds?

  • I love visiting community lots in other worlds. As I’m restricted in travel IRL having my Sims go all over is great! ?
  • I play in the district style that some other players have described. My sims travel within their town and surrounding areas quite frequently in the beginning and take lots of vacations. Once the sims have a family the only travel is really vacations and occasional date nights.
  • Sims being able to freely travel between all worlds is one of my favorite features of Sims 4!

For most of my saves, I kind of have a group of worlds that I consider being "near" my sim's residential world, and other worlds that I consider as being "far away" from the world they live in. How I group the worlds depends on my intent for the story and my concept for the overall "world". Typically, sims will make day trips to the worlds that are "near" them, for all kinds of errands or social activities, but when I send them to the "far away" worlds I either use a vacation lot rental, a generic lot as a resting place, or have them camp out in a tent.

    Spoiler

Some common "near" groupings I'm currently using are:

Oasis Springs + Del Sol Valley + Strangerville

San Myshuno + Newcrest + Willow Creek + Magnolia Promenade

    Mount Komorebi + San Myshuno

Forgotten Hollow + Windenburg + Brindleton Bay

Windenburg + San Myshuno + Newcrest

    Windenburg + Britechester + Glimmerbrook

I like that there is no official map, so I am free to imagine the geography however I wish, and can imagine it differently for different stories.

  • They mostly visit other worlds that are connected to them and their story. For instance, a sim might have grown up in Brindleton Bay then move to San Mysbuno as a young adult, but continue to visit their family in Brindleton. There are rare occasions when they vacation in another world. I usually connect three worlds minimum for my sims and wherever they travel is suited to their personality, interests, occupation, and story. I’m a rotational player, so I can explore all the worlds with multiple sims and households this way.

  • I love traveling between all the different worlds.

When my save is done and all the worlds have good lots then I usually make a game with traveling.

If a sim wants to visit a lot in the world that they are living in, then they can travel straight away. If they want to visit a specific lot in another world they would have to rent a lot in that world. If they don't want to pay up for a rental then they can take their chances with a club. Say a sim would like to go to a spa in Mt Komorebi, then they would take a club to go to any spa. With luck they would end up there but they might end up somewhere else. This means I have to make sure that there is 2-3 different versions of all the lots that I want to use otherwise its less fun. It's fun, some lots are rather swanky others are pretty grim. It's fun to see where you end up.
  • For 3 primary reasons:
Visit a community lot type not present in home world
Look for plants to harvest/fish to catch that are not in home world
The 'festivals', primarily those where sims can get plants
If I am playing an archaeologist sim, then Selvadoria
