I don't think pet illness makes much of a difference, except making a mess all over the place making my sims tense or what not, depending on their traits, I guess. If I ignore a sick pet it will go over in a day or two. I avoid adding pets to my households, because when playing rotationally, they are sick nearly all the time. I buy 50 get well treats to avoid going to the vet every time I stop by a house with a pet. Wish pet sickness worked differently.
