- Honestly, I think it’s a lot about how you dress them and what you make them do. I always put my teens in more “teenagery” clothes and hair, like that sundress Zoe Patel wears, pigtails, colourful t-shirts and such. I also make them do things that make them feel more like teenagers like be on their phones a lot, stay up late on their computers, sleep in, fight with their siblings, have lots of drama with friends and so on. If you don’t have parenthood and are thinking about getting it, it’s a great pack for teenagers and adds a lot of fun stuff to do with them. Comes with acne too!
I honestly like that teenagers can do more of the same stuff that adults can do and share the same wardrobe options. It’s possible to play storylines where teens have to grow up early and be very responsible. Also, I hated the clothes for teens in sims 3 and thought it was ridiculous that I needed to get the same dress twice from the store if I wanted it for both teens and adults. fair enough but that just leads to issues where to me content to make teens look like teenagers is limited and would get a bit repetitive. like honestly they do and can do things teenagers do( i have parenthood) and they do and can act like teens for me its just the fact that they dont look like teenagers. like even with the right clothing and hair styles there is just so little i feel like i can do. like honestly you may have given me an idea why dont you show me how you create some of your teenagers to look like teenagers."brendhan21;c-16709750" wrote:

I can try to find some pictures later, but I’m on my phone now, and it’s late Sunday night here. I don’t have any teens currently though.
As for facial features and (especially) bodies, I sometimes use cas.fulleditmode and make them look less like adults if I need to. You can always change it back when they grow up."Rebbilina;c-16709757" wrote:

that is interesting advice i never thought about trying that.- BlueSeaWaves7 years agoLegendI give my teens shirts with designs and the shirt with the headphones from GT. I made my teen sim go out at night past curfew and when she got back her mom would be waiting for her in the living room ready to discipline her. She only did homework when her parents told her too and at one point she was crying while her sister helped her with homework. She’d also curse out loud often and hid a boyfriend from her parents, but her siblings told her, he was no good for her. Her relationship with her mom actually went from good friend to friend but when she got to YA she realized her mom was always right and she got her relationship back up with her mom.
- Hi @brendhan21
I usually go into CAS and edit my teens if they look too adult. I make then thinner, sort of gangly, no makeup. I save the more trendy clothing for my teens and dress my adults in more traditional, sedate clothing. I imagine my teens to be around 17 years old.
This is the teen in my family.

And this is her mother, a young adult.
https://i.imgur.com/WgFsonV.png - I go into CAS for most teens and make heavy edits. For boys and girls I make them both considerably thinner and gawkier than default (which I realize isn't always the case, but I'm just trying to create a separation). I give boys narrow shoulders and a shallow chest, and sometimes hunched-over posture. Same thing with breasts and hips on girls.
The default difference is too subtle at a glance, and since we can't edit height (without mods) this is the best way I have found of making teens physically unique. - Quick technique that mostly works in my experience: Make the face distinctly wider than it is long.
Possibly make the head a little more large than is typical, too. "NorthDakotaGamer;c-16709839" wrote:

So basically I have trouble taking the ways teens look seriously. they look too much like the adult sims there is litreally no difference for me to me teens look exactly like young adults other then certain actions they can not do and going to school teens are the same as adults to me and i have no idea how to take them seriously and i am wondering if anyone has any advice on how to make them look like well teenagers.
IRL it is hard to differentiate between teens and young adults
Sometimes, but more often than not a 14 year-old is going to look a lot different than a 25-30 year-old.
I live by a high school and most of the kids I see walking around could never be mistaken for adults (YA or otherwise). My wife and I (we're in our thirties) have commented on how young/small they look on more than one occasion.- Movotti7 years agoNew Spectator

I live near a secondary school, and some of those brutes like like they're in their 20's, and have been working at the mine for the last 40 years. Others are 6' bean-poles. Some of the girls are shorter, but that's because the modern earlier entry to puberty messes with some peoples growth.
It gets worse further south, farm kids generally bulk up faster, once the guys start shaving, you're questioning whether they look 15 or 25. If you visit a country pub, don't hit on anyone who looks under 40... just to be safe.
