- This is why I wish we could have an added preteen or young teen life stage. I want teens that look 13/14 and the current teens look more like 17/18.
- They are very different in look and structure from YA if you look closely, it's just more nuanced. Both the body and the face change when they age up.

If you look closely, sure. Problem is, most of us don't zoom all the way in while playing.- That's more realistic though, the main difference between 16 and 25 is the face structure, as teens aren't really shorter than most adult, some of them are higher in fact as every new generation tends to be higher.
- GalacticGal7 years agoLegendI have a tendency to dress my teens in clothing that is of a wilder taste than YAs might have, plus hairstyles most self-respecting YA Sims wouldn't be caught dead in. Teens can be tall in RL. While girls often reach their full height by age 16, guys can keep growing until 21. I'm well aware there are many who dislike how the teens look in this game, but I have to say the teens were far too short to be driving in Sims3. To me, they appeared to be no older than 12-14. The best solution would be to add in the shorter teens and have them age-up again midway through the teen stage.
- My Sims twins were born in the game. I do agree in some way, their feature does look like YA. So, I dressed them up with cloths that it seems appropriate for their age, give them hairs to look like teenagers, although this can be tricky. Like in the earlier 'years' of my teen Sims, they are kinda chubby..

As the days passed, they have slimmed down and they look a lot like teenagers now.. The teen girl got so skinny, and the teen boy has a less refined body muscle... The mum is an adult. FYI, I don't use any CC or modified them in CAS except for changing their cloths and hairs

I also make arts centers and places for them to hang out and create teen clubs and such. There's always at least 3 teen clubs in my saves based on their different styles and likes.
I can illustrate everything better tomorrow when I'm on my computer if you like. And show you some of my teens and their friends. - mariefoxprice837 years agoSeasoned AceThe acne and braces can help too.

So basically I have trouble taking the ways teens look seriously. they look too much like the adult sims there is litreally no difference for me to me teens look exactly like young adults other then certain actions they can not do and going to school teens are the same as adults to me and i have no idea how to take them seriously and i am wondering if anyone has any advice on how to make them look like well teenagers.
IRL it is hard to differentiate between teens and young adults
Sometimes, but more often than not a 14 year-old is going to look a lot different than a 25-30 year-old.
I live by a high school and most of the kids I see walking around could never be mistaken for adults (YA or otherwise). My wife and I (we're in our thirties) have commented on how young/small they look on more than one occasion.
I think it's all in where you live. I live a block away from a high school and some (a good portion) of the students could be mistaken for 20somethings. It was the same when I was in school. I however have always looked my age, if not younger. "NorthDakotaGamer;c-16711033" wrote:

That may be just your area. Around here, many children ages 14 and up can be mistaken as adults. I see lots of high school aged students since my own daughter who is a sophomore in high school this year. My own daughter has been told she looks like she is 20-something. Many of her classmates also look to be older too. The only way to tell they are younger is possibly by some of their actions. It is reason enough that businesses here check ID (sale of tobacco or alcohol products) if a person looks to be 30 or younger. Wouldn't you know it, that angers adults who are are in their 40's and up but look younger.
That is why I said in my original post that what original poster really must miss is a pre-teen look. I also told how I achieve the child to preteen look with the kid life stage. The same can be done in the teen stage. Dressing them to look really young is easy, then later you transform their look to an older teen look. Like I said previously, I am in CAS to change up looks about every sim week to achieve this.
I did say sometimes that could be the case.
But there is no way that, in the majority of cases of 14 year-olds standing next to 25-30 year-olds, I'm not going to be able to tell the difference. In the case of a male, the 14 year-old might, but isn't likely to have stubble, a fully developed beard, or the early stages of male-pattern baldness (which affects two-thirds of men). The 25-30 year-old will also, more likely than not, be physically bulkier or just plain heavier.
