- Nope - they are not the least bit realistic. Rather ridiculous to be honest.
I'd love to know who thought that was a good idea to start with. - Yeah, I don’t like it either. I had one sim die from being mortified, but at least with her death I could sum it up to her being old. I read many people have sims die of “playfulness” which is just “silly” as @Cupid stated. And I agree with @Sha2520032003, laundry has never made me overly excited, and I’m going to guess that is the case for most folks. Dying from a heart attack due to irateness or sadness leading into overwhelming depression makes about the most sense depending on age of sim.

Well technically the chance of that happening in a perfectly healthy individual - regardless of age with no heart problems to start with is virtually NIl without something else to cause it - especially now a days. In fact such heart attacks in perfectly healthy individuals are looked at with suspicion in real life - even in elders when they have no ill health. So rather beyond ridiculous.
Also laughter is actual healthy for individuals because of the adorphenes it releases in a body. What they release in the body is in fact very healing and protective of the body - not a killer at all.

About the only emotion powerful enough to kill humans would be extreme fear of some kind - ironically Sims have no fear to speak of and it is the only one that would make any sense at all.- um, I do? I've only ever had it happen once and I didn't mind eventhough it was completely unplanned.
- anthonydyer7 years agoSeasoned AceI think it is stupid. You will have a sim laughing and then all of a sudden it will die? There is much better ways to create a little drama into the game. How do you all get into extreme emotions? I can barely get into the 'very' level.

I usually prefer realism, so probably not, although I haven't had one of my sims die this way yet. Maybe if it was a minor character I was going to kill anyway, it could be amusing, but if it was one of my main sims, then nooooooooooo.
I mean, technically death by laughter had happened historically, and death by anget is listed as cardiac explosion, so its a heart attack which is very realistic. - Luckylunayre7 years agoSeasoned Ace

There was a guy in history, forgot who, but he died by laughing at his own joke.
Obviously extremely extremely rare but still happened lol. - I have never had it happen but I can understand the frustration if it forces you to restart your story
- I use MCCC to disable it lol

Perhaps some underlying - unknown condition, like anurisms, asphyxiation due to low oxygen levels, unknown heart conditions, maybe even a type of allergy reaction - etc, but it's not known in perfectly healthy people is what I mean..
